Do you say Good Game after a match?

I'm just curious if people still do this, because whenever I play halo/gears (the 2 games i play online) with my mic in, i always say good game after matches. Is this common for anyone else? or is gaming etiquette dead like chivalry? What's your opinion on gaming etiquette?

Edit* Another point: when I say it after games, that evokes people to say good game back (some not all) which leads to the poll question if people would say it without me saying it.

I sometimes hear people say it...when they're the winning team. So with that in mind, I rarely hear it. :x

Same. Every Starcraft 2 game gets a "Good luck, have fun." at the beginning of the game and a "Good game" at the end. And considering that I'm always in an Xbox LIVE party with my friends I rarely talk to the community anymore.

Pretty often but not always because there are also these spammers who kills the joy of the game.

im normally playing with 7 of my friends on team slayer halo reach so i dont really say good game to them :P

if i for some reason am playing with randoms then i usually dont say anything after a match unless they say good game. that is rare though i usually get the lil kids that scream in the mic or yell YOU SUCK!!! I think they should make you take an IQ test in order to use your mic...

I say good game when it is deserved, and only on Halo Wars. If the other team plays legit and actually are decent I'll send them a good game message (People play games OUTSIDE of parties?).

Depend on type of game and if they play fair. I'll do it on sports, puzzle and other casual games. I cant say it in Halo when someone on the other team teabags you. shooters are more competitive and people tend to take those games too seriously.

if i9'm playing doubles and games comes down to a one-two point game and if other team don't start off screaming after match i do.

if i lose kinda bad i just sit there and only talk if other team wants to talk crap or if other team did some glitch or something

You need another option, "No, but used to."

I haven't said Good Game since Halo 2, when playing games like this I usually opt to have my mic unplugged or at the very least muted.

I'd only say it if I'm playing with friends

That wouldn't be an IQ test, it would be more of a maturity test.

The maturity test that I spoke of is theoretical, so any idea of what kind of questions and answers that would be on it are wrong at this time. Obviously, if it were to be a successful Maturity Test it would not be passable through common sense.

Also, I think you'll find that a large number of intellectual people trash talk all of the time, venting their frustration and anger on other individuals who cannot physically harm them in return. I also think that you'll find that the Internet is a playground for intellectual people where as in real life situations they would not raise a finger to defend themselves.

I don't and probably never will for the sole reason that the majority of people conduct themselves with no sense of sportsmanship. Cussing, bragging, or crouching repeatedly (you know what it's called) on my corpse just shows a lack of class. For that reason, I never do it. Sorry if you have dumb teammates that you don't know, but I won't show respect unless its been shown first.

when I have a fun match in an FPS, I say good game in the matchmaking lobby

and ALWAYS after a brutal match in street fighter, I say good game and point out an exciting moment in the fight.

I send "wow a gamerchick that knows what she's doing" to gamerchicks that play well..

I occasionally hear other players do it. I rarely use the mic, however. And when I do, it's because I'm in a party with my friends.

yea I do every time even when my team or their team gets owned. I guess it comes from my football background and showing good sportsmanship.

Although, a few times on gears of war, you'll encounter that one idiot that gets mad when you say good game and takes it offensive

Lol...ive only met football players who do the opposite...fun times. Always loved going to their tryouts beating them and not joining the team because they were awful to us soccer players.

because fighting games are one on one. I cant say good game after someone on other team in halo teabags you or in Gears where your own team mates are yelling at you. shooters are more prone to nonsense because its open to more players who cheat, brag and show off to there friends

Honestly, I don't know when to say Good Game anymore! I used to play Gears of War a lot, and if my team was dominating, I'd usually get abuse afterwards like "get off ur laggy cnnexion scrub" or "u only wonz cuz u were host" after saying good game. If my team was being dominated, people would say stuff like "get raped sonnn get your skillz up" after I said good game... I've had a couple of really close matches, where both teams were playing hard, but fair, and afterwards everybody said good game to each other. So I usually only say good game when it actually was a good game :)
