I knew this would eventually happen. So I have been trying to find out the way to make room of the drive by backing up some files (DLC and saved games). What do people usually do?

1. Is it just as simply as hooking it to a computer and transfer files through usb cables?

2. Can I use a USB drive to get some of those files and transfer to a computer?

3. How about getting another blank XBOX 360 HDD and transfer all the files over and remove whatever not needed from the one attached to the console?

4. Read some articles that the files will automatically be removed after transferring, is it true?

5. Need any special software if working with a computer, like #1 above?

Why isn't there a simple and straight forward for us to manage our files??

thanks.

1. nope 2. not really 3. files are one-way, one-time transfer, all or nothing. Everything on the original HD will get deleted 4. see #3 5. n/a To delete stuff: Go to the "System" tab (tap your left joystick to the right about 5 times), then select "memory". From there, you can delete stuff. If you delete an installed game, it won't delete your savegames - those have a different label. If you delete DLC, you can redownload them at any time.

ditto. I'll eventually get a 120gb if i can find one for a decent price....

and i suggest to transfer smaller files to a flash drive. you can even download demos to a flashdrive and play them off of it. thats what I do sometimes.

Dude, I would die to have a 20GB again. I had the '07 360 20GB pro and it finally red ringed march of this year. So I had my sister go on a mission for me while I was at a conference call (to pick me up a new 360). Well, she did. She picked me up an Xbox 360 S model with a 4GB hard drive. Yeah, I know I typed a lot..but I feel your pain..

I don't keep demos for long. All of the files there are saved games and DLC. A few installed games, like ME2 (2 discs), a few Xbox Live games (Limbo, Shadow Complex, Black). So frustrating sometimes as it is not so straight forward to manage the files.

I didn't know you could do that :shock:I'll definitely try that out.

I still need to upgrade to a larger hard drive though, I'm constantly fighting for space. And like you, I'm also kinda waiting around till I get a really good price on one, they're just way to over priced.

You have to transfer your files to an USB, you can't (legally) transfer the files directly to your pc. Oh and the usb holding the data won't show any file on your pc even if it has Windows 7 ultimate!
