Sony has given us our first look at controller-free hand tracking on PlayStation VR2, thanks to footage which has started making the rounds on social media.

Reminds me of Eyetoy, only except of doing fun games with other people you do it solo and look like a twat.

So why is the Apple Vision going to have PSVR2 controller support in the future? Is this Apple saying controller free hand tracking isn’t as good as with a controller? PlayStation working backwards makes sense, but not Apple

Very cool. Been looking forward to this.

And PSVR2 sales just tripled or something like that. PC compatibility is a HUGE upgrade.

A PSVR2 thread, just as dead as the device itself.

Without a true killer app PSVR2 game for it, PSVR2 was dead on arrival.

@davillain: But no VR device has had a killer app though, so all have been DOA.

@last_lap: Cyberpunk VR is for sure a killer app, for me anyway. But you need a beefy PC. I got it running really well on a 3070 with opti kit.

@nod_eclipse_: Basically, all VR games in a nutshell, take the base game and add VR to it 🤦‍♂️

And those built for VR are garbage anyway, all round waste of gaming space, even more so for the asking price, no redeemable qualities whatsoever.

@nod_eclipse_: Well when you have no ideas and just add what is basically a VR mode to an existing game, kinda show you really couldn't give 💩 really.

Except for Half-Life: Alyx. It's a one-of-a-kind VR game.

What? No ideas? What are you talking about?

I'm talking about modding, dude. Ya know? Cyberpunk VR is a totally independent project. You can basically mod any game for VR. That's what makes a good headset like PSVR 2 worth it, as long as you have a decent PC.....and you know what you're doing.

@davillain: Meh, it's Half Life that was hip 20yrs ago,

Alyx was a blimp on the gaming radar, blink and you missed it. And didn't sell many VR systems.

@nod_eclipse_: When a game needs to be modded, you know it's crap to begin with, but thats VR as a whole.

@nod_eclipse_: If you like them, then more power to you. I'm not a fan of restricting gameplay because of the viewpoint.

Cool (if it works well) and something I've wished other VR devices could do for quite a while. Just too bad that it's Sony, since they are so crap.
