Taking into account all the Walmarts, Kmarts, Targets, EBGames and other stores that might sell if you would probably at best have 20,000 locations, thats definitely on the high side too. That would require for them to sell one copy every 30 seconds and given the fact that a lot of the bigger places that sell it will be selling other things at the same time its plainly not possible.

while MP1 sold a million.

Awesome. I contributed to that 400,000. It's a great game. And to think, Nintendo under-hyped it and it still sold that much.

Good thing. Roughly the same as Bioshock, actually.

The only reason Zelda sold so well the first week was because it was a launch game (and the best launch game at that).

Why are people comparing this to Halo 3? Halo 3 is the most "casual" title on the 360, obviously its going to sell more than Metroid Prime 3.

On the other hand, Metroid Prime 3 sold more on Wii than Bioshock did on 360 in it's first week with half the American Userbase.

Also, comparing with other Prime games, Metroid Prime 3 has had the best first week sales in its series. This is GREAT news because Nintendo considers this to be their hardest of hardcore titles... which it is.
