I actually didnt look it up because tl:dr, does the one X do 8k gaming like ps5 does? It’s right on the box. I am picking up an 8k tv after christmas, most likely an oled by LG. Can’t wait to see what 120 fps looks like on it in 8k.

There's no such thing as a console that renders games at 8k. What the next gen consoles do is support 8K tvs. Much like how the Xbox One S supports 4K TVs but doesn't render any games at 4K.
@Zero_epyon: https://www.psu.com/news/can-ps5-really-do-8k-games/
The short answer is yes! Yes, the PS5 can do 8K games, however that will very rarely be something that games developers will strive for when making PS5 games.
If you own a PS5 you should get an 8k/120fps to take full advantage. Sony is the only one that guarantees true 8k experience.
Lots of Lems here hating on the PS5 just because the series X isn't an 8K machine
Obviously. Most folks underestimated the rendering capabilities of the PS5 SSD. That extra SSD processing allows it to quadruple the resolution. Series X 2.5Gb/s SSD is 😂
@EZs: Oh no a 1080p UI whatever will we do! Oh I know play games and not stare at a Home Screen! Waits for a cow to say what games
@Pedro: Well then that’s a big old fail in my eyes. To hell with Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony. I can’t stand them any more so I’m dropping them ASAP. I’m a big KFConsole guy now. That’s the only system that I need in my life.
Cluck, cluck mother****er! 🐔
I feel insulted by such mediocre trolling efforts when I at least put some thought in mine.
Well its an alt cow account, you should never expect any better lol.

Hmmm...is this even a serious question? Right now 8k output (just like the Series X) isn't currently available on the PS5. At least from what I have read. It will be unlocked per Sony in a future update. MSFT has taken the same stance...yes the X is capable of 8k output as well. However when it is enabled on the consoles...I feel its primary use is going to be geared towards 8k output for streaming media or movie discs.
Gaming in 8k.....not for the games most will want to play. There may be a few low graphically intense indie games that will be made. Perhaps like last gen, were we saw some older games from PS2/360 uprezed to 4k. Maybe they will do the same for the PS5/X. So don't go think you'll have the option to play all the new games in 8k....thats foolish.
If AMD's top discrete card can't do it for mainstream games....you honestly think their APU can?
@sheevpalpamemes: Definitely spend the money on an 8K 120 hz TV. Totally worth it.
4k is sooooo last gen. You don't wanna be left behind right?
/s
@Mozelleple112: When offered instead of higher polygon counts, improved texture resolution etc, 4k is indeed a gimmick.
Can you see the difference? Sure. But think how much better stuff would look if they used 4x the polygon count but stayed at 1080p with a decent AA solution.
The power of the SSD easily makes games run at 8K 60 FPS on the PS5. Something has to render all those triangles.
You're going to spend $5,000 on a tv to play PS5 games on?
Compared to other hobbies, I wonder whether gaming is one of the most-expensive hobbies.
Nah it's not, it's middle expensive (if that makes sense) it's not a cheap hobby but compared to musician's or cars it's pretty cheap.

You should see how much home theater enthusiasts spend. Some guy on Blu-ray.com told me that the reason I can't tell the difference between compressed and uncompressed audio like DTS and DTS-HD MA is because I probably don't have good enough speakers. I looked up the speakers in his sig and saw that the set costs 11,000 dollars.

Yeah I have mate whose dad spends that much on speakers but after hearing them, I honestly doubt that they are better than a $5k set.

Golf is definitely up there. I imagine aviation is also rather pricey, but just a guess. :p
I feel that hobbies typically are expensive no matter what they are. Of course some much more so than others but even something like gaming can be taken to the extreme!
Besides my lifetime gaming hobbie...the one that really punches my wallet in the nut sack is my car hobby. Ouch!!
@clone01: i set aside 20k for a tv setup and sound. I think that should be good enough for a premium ps5 experience. Been using a 64 inch 4k oled and i feel like a poor person using it.
