IPs from previous gens that youd like to see in the current gen

Recently saw a post on Valkyria Chronicles, which was highly regard in the PS3/PS4 era. Makes me wonder why a franchise like this didn’t make its way to the current gen. I would easily welcome another entry! Another franchise I could think of but is actually coming this gen is Kingdom Hearts. I’m eagerly anticipating Kingdom Hearts 4, hopefully it comes out next year. And lastly, Shenmue.. why doesn’t Sega reboot this franchise? They’ve had so much success with Yakuza, now would be a great time to bring Shenmue back. How about you, SW? What IPs or franchises from previous gens would you’d like to see in the current gen?

I'm always expecting a new Valkyria Chronicles, but the latest games where disastrous for the franchise, Azure Revolution was a failure in practically all aspects, and Valkyria Chronicles 4 proved that the ones that say "I'll buy it if it was in my system of choice instead of being a PS exclusive" don't put their money where their mouths are.

Gauntlet. But WB doesn't care about Midway beyond Mortal Kombat.

A new Chrono game would be great. Been way too long since Chrono Cross. Some others I’d love would be:

Turok - DOOM, Shadow Warrior , Wolfenstein all got reboots and atleast one sequel. Turok should get a chance now

Any 6th /7th gen racing series that hasn't been seen since.

Other than Sony fuking up Bloodborne aka the G.O.A.T, I have few franchise that I think deserve another shot;

• The Godfather - First game was great bought it for both PS2 & PS3, 2nd game was one of the buggiest unfinished game on PC. EA or whoever holding the IP should revisit, rising through the rank in the mafia and the empire building part is additing.

• Suikoden - Suikoden V is best game, it deserve a remaster more than Suikoden II. Or maybe a new entry considering the relative popularity of games like Trails series or successor Eiyuden Chronicles.

• Dark Cloud 3. Let's do this Sony.

• Mercenaries. First game was awesome, blowing up Korea was good fun. 2nd game suck ass and killed the franchise but modern tech would allow for more unpredictable destruction.

Bought VC4 on PS4 cause I loved VC (bought it on PS3, PC and then PS4 for the platinum) but the anime shenanigans in VC4 story really killed the franchise in my opinion. In VC1 other than the whole valkyria thing, it was more grounded and with characters you root for. I recommended a lot of friends to play VC but never VC4.

Should have stayed exclusive cause VC did a million on PS3 alone.

Like I'm really gonna want Dino Crisis with the tired over-the-shoulder perspective, very linear and scripted cinematic story and no satisfying use of key items as you backtrack (or wasteful open world, not anything in between). Or in first person view to save money, like what's going on with original Resi games. Regina in boring jeans and a tank top.

Like I'm really gonna want Ecco from the company that's totally fucking up Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio right now.

Publishers can't do shit anymore. Very few exceptions.

New Pikmin & F-zero on Switch 2

In fact give us a F-zero before Mario Kart 9 and you'll see people flock to it.

New Banjo Kazooie would be cool but I'm convinced people at the head of MS studios don't have a clue what's going on.

A proper mass effect game would be great. I've never seen a promising franchise get murdered so carelessly than mass effect. An industry embarrassment.

I'd lose my shit for a new metal gear rising game. Blade mode needs the light of day

I'd love to see a new Starlancer and Freelancer. I mean SQ42 and Star Citizen are basically that but those will never release 😋. And Combat Flight Sim.

Modern Combat flight sim would be really cool. Going from Late WW1 to modern times (though, with the current political climate....maybe not 😬). And Crimson Skies.

Hey MS....dig up some old IP while your at it...please? Especially Golf....MS Golf. Classic.

I miss Wipeout. Modern Wipeout with the dualsense...yes please. VR mode too....YES PLEASE! Sadly Sony closed the stuidio that used to make them :(.
