Gotham Knights - only 30fps, YIKES!

It’s being reported that all console versions of Gotham Knights will run at 30fps with no performance option. Now you know why they cancelled the last gen versions. I’m seeing lots of “cancelled my preorder, I’ll pick it up if they release a 60fps patch” comments.

This is a huge L. There is no excuse for this game to be locked at 30fps. One of the most anticipated games of the year and they’re really gonna release this at 30fps. No thanks.

I hope gamers can survive such a tragic event. It's not always easy to overcome such trauma.

For me this has been quite impactful, my desire to play this went from none to zero.

Seems to run on the same old engine so no idea why this is done.

I thought this gen was supposed to be about options, smh.

If my ps5's SSD wanted to, it would run the game at 60-80fps no problemo.

When is Nintendo are Microsoft and Sony gonna release stronger hardware to run games like this at 60fps?

LOL, typical console bullshit. Like I have been saying... as soon as the cross-gen period is over, this will become more common as developers push the hardware. They know console gamers don't care about quality. PC FTW!

The PS5 can run graphically way more demanding games like Horizon Forbidden West at 60fps.

They all better sell their consoles, it will all be 30 fps eventually. Starfield will be 30 fps, elder scrolls will be 30 fps, deal with it.

I do hope that everyone on the social media shits on them. Don't give me any 30fps titles, its almost 2023. If the game looks spectacular, and clearly something that destroys hardware, i could understand, but this pos looks like something from 2017.

As long as it’s a stable 30fps and not 15-30fps, then it should be fine. I want to avoid the PS3/360 era where we had unstable 30fps which would drop to 15fps during action-packed scenes.

Plus motion blur would help make the 30fps look smoother since each frame looks like several frames.

Still a shame we are not getting 60fps.

I'm sure some people care but most people don't. They should of done a sequel to Origins or something Gothic Knights looks awful graphically and gameplay wise.

After playing Spider-Man at 60+ fps, there is no way I’m going to play a game like this at 30 Fps.

I'm getting the game either way, it looks fun and the story is interesting from what I can tell. But then it makes me wonder if I dare even buy the PS5 version or just get the PS4 one?

basically, nvidia paid off the developer to push useless features. Bottom line, graphics have already plateud and not going to get much better. Not until we hit real VR anyways, which is the next step in video games.

@silentchief: Arkham Knight was a a disaster on PC at launch, but it ended up being the best version by far after patches. I doubt Gotham Knights will have major issues on PC.

That's true actually. As we push through this gen when the cross gen nonsense stops, more games on PS5 and Xbox will push the resolution and frame rate down to what console gamers were used to in the past.

Why? Graphics sell on consoles.

We already have a taste of this with Returnal being 1080p.

Nope. Origins is worst in series. WB montreal is B team of Rocksteady.

No where near as good as Arkham trilogy which is masterpiece.

It took awhile. They also never dis any type of patch for the mid gen or next gen consoles. They have become a joke of a developer.

I don't think is so much an issue of it being unplayable but more like for a game like this, capping it at 30 fps reads illogical.

This game looks awful. Thankfully there's three Batman Arkham games out there that are worth replaying and I already own them but if I didn't they're always available for peanuts.

Which three? I get the feeling that Arkham Origins isn't getting any love here. :-(

It's one of my two top Arkham games, I don't get the dislike it gets. Once you unlock 5x combo and critical hits from the Shiva side mission, it's as good as Arkham City for me.

For me it's Arkham Asylum I can't go back to. Feels restrictive and the detective mode just reveals everything.
