Resident Evil 6
Cyberpunk initially disappoint me but new version redeem it.
Alan wake 2 looks to be disappointing sequel compare to original as it become more of walking simulator than original which was pure Action/horror title. also Alan being secondary character in his own game is nothing but disappointment.
As of late Callisto Protocol. Starfield is another tremendous failure that i hoped would be good, but it ended up to be as bad as Ubisoft games.
Zelda Breath of the Wild and to a lesser extent TotK, since my expectations were lower this time around after BotW
Still liked them but honestly cant understand the 10s everywhere or the overwhelming high praise for the games... to each their own I guess
For me, its a tie between Forspoken & Callisto Protocol. Forspoken got so tedious on the gaming world, I was fed up with it. Had to force myself just to finish the game. And as for Callisto Protocol, this game was supposed to be the successor to Dead Space as everyone knows, I love Dead Space franchise, I was so disappointed on the gameplay, I just ended up melee everyone and barely use my guns but mostly just using the Skunkwork shotgun.
Callisto Protocol wins it for me as my most disappointing game so far! (At least with Forspoken, I can tolerate its faults)

This is exactly how I felt with BOTW & TOTK. I love the Zelda games but I for one wasn't feeling it with the latest Zelda games. Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask still outclasses both of those games as far as I'm concerned. (Even Wind Waker)
Don't get me wrong, I like both BOTW & TOTK, gamers just love overhyping them.
@sargentd: Oh dang... yeah. I really wanted Tony Hawk to come back, and they gave us... that.
yup.. college roomate at the time told me not to get it on launch, cus he read online it was bad, ignored his warning, returned it the next day, worst tony Hawk game ever. felt so floaty and gross. Bought it day one and felt like a total dumbass trying to enjoy it for like 3 hours lol
luckily THPS made a huge come back with the remasters of 1and2. I love the remaster, even double dipped for the switch version
Pokemon Scarlet/Violet. It was a disaster. I consider myself a Pokemon fan, so I guess that's why I was disappointed by it. I know how good a Pokemon game can be because Pokemon X/Y is one of my favourite JRPG's of all time. In Scarlet/Violet, the setting, the characters and the story are impossible to care about. I hope that the next Pokemon game will be better, but the developers have no incentive to strive for that because of how well Scarlet/Violet sold (millions of copies).
Even the picnicking was bad. Throughout the entire campaign, the game never tells you what this feature is, or why you should care. The combat was fun though, so I will give the developers credit for that.
It's rare enough that I am disappointed with a game as i generally do my homework.
But most recent would be Xenoblade 2. I won't go on a rant...all I'll say is I don't really recall playing a game that just pissed away so much potential. Disappointing in the truest sense of the word. Cracking soundtrack though.
FF 8 was also a big let down. 7 was always going to be a tough act to follow but...well....i can barely remember anything from it. Meh story from what i remember (i'm struggling to remember anything past the beach assault bit to be honest). The draw system for combat was rubbish. Summons dragged on too long. Gunblades looked cool though....wish we saw them in more games but i think Square have a copyright on the idea sadly :(.
Gta4... It was a tech demo with super boring things to do.
Neir auromata... I was all about this game at launch. Multiple perspectives in one game? Top down, 3rd person etc... Love love love! 💋
But then I played it and the open world is barron with invisible walls and the same bland enemies... I get that there is underlying themes at play and the game is considered a narrative masterpiece, but playing the game felt average at best...
Mass Effect Andromeda was like a kick to the bag.
No Man's Sky at launch was so 😭😭😭 but I'm happy to say now I see it as a masterpiece.... The work that has been to that game to deliver on its promises is incredible. We're waaaay beyond promises now. This is a game that is extremely well designed.
Spider-Man 2. Buggy mess, story was shit, fell out of the top sales, and was essentially a glorified 8 hour DLC. It was like pulling teeth to finish it. And yet Miles Morales was awesome. 🤷♂️

Are you being SWish or is that how you really feel about the game?
Honestly, Redfall. Vampires and vampire lore are largely my thing (huge Masquerade fan). I didn't look at any of the trailers or gameplay or anything, just read about it beforehand. On paper, sounded cool.
In reality, I would rather eat an ulcer than play that abomination of a game.

SW hat off. It was buggy, but only enough to require me to restart at near by checkpoint once. It was short, but I wasn't serious about it being DLC. I do like Miles better, and I did think the story in SM2 was butt. However, I had fun playing.
1. Starfield
2. Halo infinite
3. Forza
4. Sunset overdrive (the worst pos cringe game ever)
Excellent list, and i couldn't agree more tbh.

Seems reasonable.
Sports/Wrestling games have been a disappointment since the 360/PS3 era.
GTA4/RDR1/GTA5/RDR2 are all mediocre to just plain sucks compared to the PS2 era.
MGS5 could've been something special. Konami should've given Kojima and his crew all time in the world. This title was really a glorified tech demo.

You guys had such high hopes for those? Damn, had no idea you guys were MS fans.
For Starfield and Infinite, yes. When they showed the very first engine trailer for Infinite, it looks exactly what i want my Halo to look like. Of course, the final product was a meme in comparison. As for Starfield, i am not a Bethesda hater like most on SW, so i did expect it to be a good game, especially since they were trying to boot a brand new IP with many sequels in the future. It ended up failing so bad i am not sure if they will ever even launch a sequel at this point.
@Archangel3371: I assume you are in your late 40s, as I remembered playing E.T. during the video game crash unaware at the time it was a bad game.
@bladez:
I could go on for hours, but I guess my top list is:
Halo 2 - Ruined the direction of the series, mp worse in every way
Diablo 3 - Launched broken in multiple ways, lame story, killed beloved character with a butterfly
SimCity 2013 - Launched completely broken
Fallout 4 - Mostly boring story/missions, scrap mechanic was underwhelming, overpopulation killed the vibe of the wasteland
RDR2 - One of the most boring games I've ever played, couldn't decide if it was arcade fun or a cowboy simulator, and failed at both, most mechanics are completely superfluous
GoW 2018 - boring combat, decent scale in parts, but underwhelming compared to past entries, didn't offer a "kick boi off cliff" button

why are you agreeing with your own alt 🤡

Joystick Awards blow.
Cows naming Xbox games is a compliment as it shows the games they name are good otherwise they wouldn't be trying to throw shade at them.
I would say a game hasn't disappointed me since the 360 days where there was a few. GTA4, Gears of War, Midnight Club LA,

This is why everyone clowns on you xbots - it’s this type of delusion that nets you mid tier games and Phil Spencer

No, bro, Sony Ponies are the laughing stock of the internet.
Look at you! You don't have any Xbox consoles, but you sit there and make a list of Xbox games as your "disappointments"? Really? Do you see why we point and laugh at you?
Did I mention Forespoken? No - thats a PlayStation game, and I have never played it. Why would I consider it a disappointment?
deabear malding yet again. Don't make me post a Starfield review of someone who put 500h into the game, it will traumatize you for life.
