COD Black Ops 6 - GS: Campaign 8/10, Multiplayer 8/10, 84 MC!

I am playing it via GamePass (thanks, Uncle Phil!) and so far I’m liking the multiplayer. I rarely play COD campaigns, but I’ll probably check that out too. IGN recently gave the campaign a 9/10 Did you get the game, SW? Are you enjoying it? What do you think will be the overall score/consensus?

I only play the campaign. Three missions in and it's pretty cool! Graphics are amazing, unbelievably good! And the action is tense.

Seems total madness to me to give it away this cheap through gamepass. That is why uncle Phil is the best uncle 😅!

Not yet, will play it through gamepass at some point! Probably mostly the single player part though

Gamepassing that thang. Zombies and Campaign are great fun, waiting with MP until I figure the movement out.

I got Game Pass, so gonna download once I figure out what 200GB of stuff I wanna delete of my SSD. Surprised there's so little chatter on it though.

I already played this game about a decade ago. Back then, it was called Call of Duty: Black Ops...

Yep, playing it on the XSX via Game Pass and having a great time with it. So far have played some of the campaign and online multiplayer and they’ve both been really good. Going to check out some Zombies mode soon.

With that out of the way, it's a really excellent game.

The singleplayer campaign is actually REALLY good, and at this point a lot longer than the previous COD MW campaign. The missions structure is diverse and really bounces between stealth and action, setpiece and open-ended, really really well.

Haven't dabbled too much with the multiplayer, but I played a few rounds of team deathmatch and it was a lot of fun. Maps seem well-designed and small enough to keep things focused, but not so cramped that they don't feel retraining. For example, a map that takes place with a mansion on it consists of exactly that; no more, no less. It's really nice.

And it's included in Game Pass! Win-win!

Basically if you go prone while sprinting, you do a flying leap and land on your back.

They've done this action movie thing before with some games--Max Payne, the mod "Action Half-Life" for Half-Life back in the day--and it's a lot of fun.

Not sure how tactical it is; using it, I still get killed, and seeing it in action when enemies do it doesn't seem to really phase me too much. They just sort of fly 5-10 feet quickly and it's easy to spot.

But still, it's something new and not just a gimmick (I think it can be used strategically) but so far it's more just an amusement than anything serious.

It's pretty great. Reminds me of a campaign from a late-90's/early-00's action game; tight, focused, and no-bullshit. Just an action-movie story, some cool characters, and a linear mission structure with some open-ended design tossed in here and there for fun.

Haven't downloaded it off gamepass yet, but I'll give it a try eventually. Not the SP only the MP. I dont gaf about it's SP

I haven't played COD in many years. I started playing COD WWII last month and couldn't really get into it because it was so scripted and unengaging. I hope the other COD games come to GP soon so that I can play those instead. I would like to play some of the newer ones before BLOPS 6.

trying out the sp. seems a pretty fun arcade shooter so far. already miles better than the previous game's campaign, might've been modern warfare

I'm so far blown away by BO6 SP campaign, so freaking good, game-play, gun-play, visuals and thus far story. :D

Haha, I never got into COD MP. I never even played Warzone before. So, I would imagine I would get whooped by some of the regulars until I got familiar with the game.

Genuinely surprised as a COD disliker. Last COD I really enjoyed was mw2, or maybe ww2. Blops6 hits the triple home run with Zombies, MP and SP all scoring well.

Would never have bought it without GP, but I have to say…my faith is restored.

As someone borned in the eighties I have to admit I loooove the early nineties vibe 😅. I am so old now that my childhood is history (well not my childhood in particular).

I gave it a download on gamepass yesterday, will give it a go at some point. takes an absurd amount of SSD space.

For the first time in ages, I enjoyed the multiplayer in MW2 a couple years ago. Didn't play MW3. we'll see how this one is.

I'm noticing the same thing, but I'm wasn't sure if it's my console. Something is definitely off and it just started a few days ago.

I got the game on GP, and have been enjoying it, though I don't really like the games from Treyarch as much. The animations feel weird to me.

@mrbojangles25: I agree with IGN where they say that there is a ton of potential where the human story could be told much better depth. But I'm sure that uncle Sam and the government doesn't want that story to be told. And Activision probably doesn't want to turn these games too political either. These war based games are based on material that is pretty sensitive topics.

It's not the job of the story teller to say who is right or wrong, and its not the job to influence the reader. I'm sure that the true story would unfortunately portray America as the bad guy, at least according to our current understanding of morals and, right or wrong. But that is too simplistic way to look at it.

I still think the story could be told better, the human element at least, without painting any side as good or evil.

I started the campaign but probably won’t finish it. FPS campaigns are boring af. The multiplayer is pretty good. Some of the maps aren’t great but the game plays well. I probably won’t touch Zombies mode

Played a few multiplayer matches on BLOPS6,but not much interest into the sp. CoD is CoD. Multiplayer:9/10.

Few things worse than a "varied" cod campaign.

Why is it so cumbersome to start this game?

Start Xbox app -> Start COD app -> Log into online profile -> "New update, app needs to be restarted" -> Restarts - > Select BLOPS Campaign -> COD app closes, BLOPS app starts -> Continue campaign.

i click the game logo on the xbox dash, click quick resume, resume again from the cod menu screen and i'm in? but i just have the campaign installed, not the mp, maybe that's it?

i liked the first mission. razor sharp arcade shooting mechanics, simple but fun. but then it turns into a bloody far cry game. spend money? dialogue choices? i'll persevere on but i'm not mega keen on the direction it's going in
