Catherine -HYPE THREAD- *New Trailer

I was on FB and seen this "Best of 2010 trailers" thing and came across "Catherine" developed by Atlus...

I never heard of this game at all but the anime-look is what made me click on it... >_>

This game looks beautiful and freaky as hell... why isn't there any hype for this?

I haven't seen, but is it confirmed for North America? If not, I can't imagine there will be much hype. It's a pretty niche game.

Its pretty known here. We had a massive thread recently regarding the boxarts.

No US/EU date set yet. This is my most hyped game next year. Day 1 import.

I didn't know much about it til like 30 mins ago... sucks if it's only an import... :(
I haven't tried importing games since the Dreamcast when we had to do the trick to keep the disc tray open to switch out discs...

If you get another region game, do they work on american consoles or do I need to do something a la the dreamcast tray trick?

From the little bit I've seen of it I'm pretty hyped for it. The Persona team is pretty damn good and the concept is interesting.

PS3 - The system is region free and so is every single game. You can buy with no worry. Its not the same for Blu-ray movies though.

360 - The system is region free but devs decide to region lock their games. its half and half, but a pretty big risk still.

Wii - System is locked. you cant play imports.

Ideally you want to import the PS3 version if you have the system. No alterations, just put the game in and it works. Some games (FFXIII jp for example) alter such as X being confirm instead of O for Japan. If youve got a 360 then its best to wait and hear what forum posters say before importing.

just from looking at the trailer i can tell this game isnt for me

I don't see why someone that does not know Japanese would import Catherine, it looks like a heavily text-based game.. So unless you find running away from monsters really fun it kinda seems pointless.

Just like Xenoblade or Last Story, I need to hear some localization news before I get really excited. But I really hope this one gets over here, really do.

I'm going to buy solely to support Atlus so they can make Persona 5 by 2012

Showing series of trailer contain sexy poses won't sway me. I'll decide when I see actual game-play.

I personally cannot wait for its release, I am a huge fan of everything atlus puts out, and the Persona franchise are my favorites from them so seeing that team work on a next gen game has me automatically hyped.

I love it dark and twisted. My wife might enjoy watching too, last time she liked one of my games was Bioshock and before that it was RE4.

We both love Ichi the Killer though so I'm hoping it's a bit too sick like that movie is ;)

The demo will be the deciding factor for me.

The game looks downright strange and I am not sure that is in a good way lol. Maybe I will love it, but I will wait to see gameplay first.

They have given ALOT of screenshots and details on gameplay, it's split into 3 different parts and yea you can already tell how it's going to be like.

I'm hyped, it's comming from atlus, they usually never dissapoint me.

I'm not feeling it. I'm glad the devs are trying something new, but the fact they are marketing the game like an anime show sort of has me worried how the actual gameplay is going to turn out.

You can have the most unique story, but if the gameplay isn't fun, there's little point for me. Then again, I loved Heavy Rain.... :?
