Those "Fixes" made the game WORSE imo. Gameplay is way too fast now and all sense of strategy is gone. Now it's just run and gun with the auto shotty-sniper.

I'm in both the LBP and socom beta and imo socom is more fun. btw for every1 to know, I wouldn't be too hyped for lbp, it's great in the way that you can actually creat pretty much anything you can think of but the core gameplay just isn't all that great imo, it's awsome to play a few freaky user created lvls and creat 1 yourself but it's not something you'll play for hours and hours and keep coming back to. But ofc that's just my opinion.

No the gunplay was too fast for anything to be tactical. The entire mercs team picked the auto shotgun because it's the ultimate noob cannon. The updates ruined the game.

You have to be kidding me...the patches didn't even increase the gameplay anyways....the speed is right...and for new people it is actually too slow for them.
I would definitely get Socom....I know i will be playing it even 2 years from now.
Socom's not looking too promising right now since the beta still needs some work done. I've done Socom betas before to know enough that if this game is an Oct 14th release, we're pretty much playing the game right now minus a few maps. Socom 3's final release was pretty much a beta masking as a final release. There's only a little over a week left. I have a feeling we're "buying" the same thing, bugs and all.

You have to remember that the betas on the PS2 are totally different...the amount of stuff you could fix were very very limtied, the only major thing was working with the servers.
The PS3 has a harddrive so they can fix a lot of the problems. Look at what they have already fixed....it is quite impressive.
Even though ive never played past iterations i would probably get Socom, im a fan of online shooters, but ill have both evevntually anyways so whats the dif... lol
Duckman5... ur an idiot... Socom is all about stealth and nothing about socom is run and gun... usually the team that communicates the best is a winner in socom... Im buying Socom and maybe LBP after Christmas.
SOCOM was horrible, I loved ever SOCOM game 'till this one, the network is dated and so are the controls. The frame rate is poor and the network lag is a death trap. I assume it's network lag on there end, 'cause i don't have any lag issues on any other online games. I'm sad to see a good franchise end up like this.
Get both! That's what I got yesturday. Socom is really awesome, it's the best shooter - I suggest turn up your surround sound. LBP is way cool. two different tests. ...I cant live with out neither.
I will get SOCOM once Im sure all the bugs are fixed and lag becomes non existant. Until then I still love warhawk and I am quirte happy having that as my online only game. I dont think SOCOM is as good as warhawk anyway.
