I would recomend any HDD cloning soft like Acronis Migrate Easy.

and also you can check the rest of their products like Acronis True Image Home 2010 and Acronis DiskDirector Suite.

well its really a cheaper solution to just re install the OS.

but truly the app is worth every $

been using it since it came out and saved my the hassle of looking for my serials and stuff.

and you can use a trial test and see if your comfortable with this.

yes, its simple.

just install both HDD's and run the app follow the instructions and there you go.

when done unplug the old HDD or format it.

its as simple as that.

um...why can't he just use the Windows App that is included with the OS???

Go to Backup and Restore, click "Create a System Image" then selectt he HDD you want to create the image to.

that might work but for me I don't trust MS and besides not all win 7 editions have this feature I think.

any how its really up to you whther to use the app or anything else.

on the other hand if it was me I would go for the app above I tried it on almost 50 dell optiplexs' in my school lab and every time I get a winner.

I believe that feature is indeed on every windows version except xp and earlier and it is extremely easy http://www.winsupersite.com/win7/ff_backup.asp

Windows 7 has a built in complete backup option which is much better and faster than any 3rd party solution. Just use that.

Well, for my WD HD, all I did was use the software that was provided, which was called Lifeguard Tools.

Always great to save some money. I'm really surprised by how many people who don't realize all this stuff that MS puts in it's OSs.
