5%? Yeah right, I don't believe that for a second. Sounds more like they just don't want to make a single player game. I also really don't feel comfortable paying $60 for a game that has only multiplayer stuff to offer.
I've actually been in favor of this for a while, although it'd be nice if the game launched at a lower price since it has less modes... but anyway, for a lot of these shooters it just doesn't make sense to bother with a singleplayer campaign when the multiplayer is clearly where it's at. Games like COD, Battlefield, and now Titanfall, for example.Â
5 hour long forgettable campaigns, or tack on multiplayer disguised as campaign like with Brink/UT3. When you make a multioplayer game, make it a multiplayer game.
The MP is probably going to be like CODs with perks and XP and unlocks and what not, just set in the future with mechs and jetpacks and some interesting new mechanics. It sure has an interesting setting but I'm not really interested in anouther COD-like multiplayer so I would have liked a SP component.
Shame.
60$ is always too much for a game.. but come on, don't judge a game for not having singleplayer.. i didn't even bother playing bo2 o bf3 sp. Not even bc2's5%? After playing through Battlefield 3's single player campaign, I felt like someone owed me $60. The multiplayer is a great deal of fun, but that was the most embarrassing attempt at a single player campaign that I have seen in quite a while. Just awful.
I remember reading that Titanfall is a multiplayer (only) game a while back, so this isn't a surprise to me. Given who is developing the game, I think it is safe to assume that the multiplayer will be very well done, and will be played by a LOT of people.
It would have been cool to have an impressive single player campaign to go along with the multiplayer, but it definitely isn't something that would prevent me from purchasing the game. I only play through a game's campaign one time anyway, and then I head straight to the multiplayer after that.

Yeah, singleplayer campaigns are difficult and time consuming. And for these kinds of games they tend to be rather short and underwhelming anyways. I'd rather they devote that extra energy towards making a better MP component.
clearly is a multiplayer game, i'm glad they're doing this. who wants another generic fps 5 hour game? not many people I assume.
Yeah, if this game is multiplayer only, it better not cost $60...5%? Yeah right, I don't believe that for a second. Sounds more like they just don't want to make a single player game. I also really don't feel comfortable paying $60 for a game that has only multiplayer stuff to offer.

Games like Titanfall are pretty much the reason I switched from consoles to PC. Online multiplayer FPS done to freakin' death here's a slightly different flavor and the crowd goes wild  I built a PC so I can go back and play all my favorite single player games from this gen with better graphics, frame rates and some mod's. Because it sounds like the next gen is going to be pretty short on games that interest me.

Yea, I agree, but on the flipside, I really wish they would stop tacking on half assed multiplayer modes on games that are mainly single player. It takes developement time away from the single player and usually sucks anyway.Â
Do we really need another trash 5 hour long single player campaign tacked on to a multiplayer centric game anyway?
who is actually upset by this? were you really looking forward to a single player by these guys? ffs, people are so hard to understand.yellosnolvrI was looking forward to a single-player campaign where I can double jump, run on walls, and ride mechs. There could have been some really neat level designs based around those mechanics. Is that really so hard to understand? People have different tastes. I like shooters, but I don't like multiplayer games.

who buys these games for the single player anyway

Agreed, I'll never understand why anyone would buy a game like COD just for the campaign.Â
I wouldn't buy a CoD game for the single-player because they are boring games with awful level design.Titanfall looked more interesting. It could have had a really creative single player campaign.
I've pretty much made my peace with it, single player games are slowly going to start merging into hybrid games a la Dark Souls...even Watch Dogs is going that route. To be honest I've played hundreds of single player games and I am ready for something a little different to change it up, I just hope these hybrids have something more to offer then just deathmatches.
As others have said, I would prefer they spent all development time perfecting multiplayer than wasting time on a SP component that nobody will play.
Yup. Most importantly, it needs to have great multiplayer modes.I've pretty much made my peace with it, single player games are slowly going to start merging into hybrid games a la Dark Souls...even Watch Dogs is going that route. It was pretty good. It was the only modern warfare COD that I liked. Even the multiplayer was great. I miss those days when COD MP was actually good.I wouldn't buy a CoD game for the single-player because they are boring games with awful level design.[QUOTE="veolyn"]

I purchased every single cod til 4 for the singleplayer, and it was totally worth it. Then after cod 4, all the mp hype arrived, tried mw 2 and it was the start of the IW ripoff era.

World at War was even better than MWs in my opinion, but that is because I like the setting way more. MW2 was absolutely awful, like you said they clearly focussed on MP (and the console versions), but I liked Black Ops. Never bothered with MW3 and Black Ops 2.
COD, UO and COD2s singleplayers were easily the best. The same people also made MOHAA which had an awesome singleplayer. Shame they soley go for MP this time as these people have the talent to make great SP experiences.
