Hey, my old, uncomfortable headphones finally gave way and now I need some new ones. I am willing to pay up to £50 if it's worth it, and am looking at the Sony Mdr-V6 headphones as they look nice too, but this isn't too important as i'll only be using these inside. I would like them to be comfortable with good sound quality and good value for money.
I am a bit of a noob at this, so I guess I need headphones with a long lead if I want to use them on ps3 and a usb adapter, right? or are there extension cords so the cord isn't too long when i'm using them on a laptop? I really am quite uneducated on sound D: so would appreciate any help/advice/recommendations. Thank you!

Starting at the end of your post, it is certainly possible and inexpensive to buy a 3.5mm extension cable if needed, but most full size headphones do come with long cables already.
MDRV6 isn't a bad choice at all. Other decent headphones in (or a tiny bit over) your budget include:
Sennheiser HD419 (£50)
Sennheiser HD429 (£55, probably worth it over the 419)
AKG K451 (£50, mini/portable option) Audio Technica M30 (£50)
And for a bit of a wildcard, the Somic MH463 which are open back and became fairly popular in a headfi thread. You'd have to import them but they'd be within your budget. Some people found them not very comfortable but in the thread some other earpads are discussed which apparently improve comfort (IIRC some turtle beach ones fit).

Thank you a lot. the Mdr-V6's look great still, but as they're being advertised as lightweight I was wondering if I could get better value for money elsewhere since I'll be inside anyway. I do want these quickly so I guess the Somic headphones are a no go - and I don't want to take risks with electronics either really :P. What else will I need with them to use with ps3? I'll be fine without a decent audio card (using a laptop), right? sorry for the questions... I have found vague answers but am still unsure. EDIT: seeing a lot about them being uncomfortable on the ears, is this true or is it rather subjective? I will be using them for extensive periods so...
