Whats the most overrated movie of all time?

In this thread we discuss about movies that are overrated. they score so high, or are some of highest grossing movies that did amazing business despite nothing special or not good.

I think theres lot and lot of overrated movies. like if we are talking about recent. no doubt they are Avengers infinity war and Endgame. they absolutely suck but theater are so full of them, i watch them on my home and hated them. avatar was also overrated movie that was one of the highest grossing of its time despite being terrible.

but one movie that i think i can easily called most overrated movie is Titanic

Yes, James Camarone Titanic starting leon kennedy .. i mean Leonardo dicaprio. its not just most overrated movie of all time but also one of the if not the worst movie i have ever seen. leonardo dicaprio looks like kid in that movie, old woman telling story when she was young and beautiful kate winslet. the music which is most popular is also terribly compose in my opinion

I watched it at my home on TV long ago because it was airing on some channel and everyone was watching it. then i realize thankfully i didnot watch it on theater.

well theres lot and lot of overrated movies but titanic takes the cake. its just my opinion, in the end i respect every one opinion and taste.

Gone with the Wind no doubt. Not that I dislike the movie, it's great but overrated.

Now, i'm not saying this is bad, in fact it's very good. But when you compare it to Korean or Chinese or other Eastern action movies, it's really not that impressive.

It's more impressive in the context of American movies where practical action had taken a backseat for CGI extravaganzas.

Again, before anyone rages, I am not saying this movie is bad.

Apparently its also greatest movie i have ever seen in my life. before that it was Matrix but this movie surpassed Matrix in every way.

If you like it so much you're probably enjoy Eastern cinema as it's basically new and old jam packed with this kind of shit.

I didn't mind Titanic.

For me, Hugo.

It was visually appealing but I just found it to be pretty boring. I can see why people like it but can't at the same time. Mind you, I was 15 when it was released so maybe my opinion has changed since then if I ever watch it again.

What was so bad about Titanic? I get that it's essentially a romance, and romances are "for girls", and being a guy and liking romances isn't "manly", but the movie really wasn't bad. I was obsessed with the Titanic as a kid (had books, video-taped documentaries which I would re-watch, etc) and I liked the movie because of how amazingly they recreated the Titanic. The visuals in the movie still hold up to this day. I actually wouldn't be surprised if the movie would look worse if it was made in the past 15 years because it would rely more heavily on CGI with still looks awful 90% of the time.

Rocky. Rambo. Stallone as a actor.

Black Panther for sure, just average movie at best but it was hyped to all he'll because of diversity. Completely meh movie.

The Wizard of Oz.

Rambo popularised american-action movies. and Rocky became the template for aspirational sports movies.

Just recentish movies that come to mind: avatar, endgame, aquaman, and black panther

I don't know about all time but:

• Schindler's List

Apart from its shitty romantic movie for girls. its also a movie that promote extra martial affair and show rose fiance as villain when he was not.

It also show old lady only care about leonardo guy she meet for 2 days instead of her husband and granddaughter she spent time with 80 years. terrible movie.

Clockwork Orange. So many people told me to watch it that I actually bought it. Watched it with my wife. We couldn't stand it at all and stopped watching it like 30mins in. What a horrible piece of garbage

Rose's fiance was a total villain! He didn't even love Rose, held Leo at gunpoint and threw him in jail and left him to die with the ship.

So what's not to like about Titanic? Even if you didn't care for its love story, which was great, it still had some of the best disaster scenes in movie history! I'm talking about the Titanic sinking! It's also interesting from a historical aspect too. There was a lot of work that into the movie and making it as historically accurate as possible.

He is then anti hero to me.

villain is complete evil character. like Agent smith of Matrix or viggo tarsov of John wick.

Rose fiance havenot even killed anyone and finally he was redeemed.

Come on Solaryellow, that movie is pure classic and part of my childhood. To bad Oz: the great and powerful couldn't hold a candle compare to it's ancestor.

Fantasy is wonderful but I can not find any redeeming qualities about the film.

Marvel movies...…….

Citizen Kane. Look, this is a fasinating movie to learn about in a film class. Absolutley ahead of it's time from a film making perspective. Plus all the shenanigans William Ranadolf Hearst put it through could itself be made into a pretty compelling movie.

But if you just sit down and watch it as a 2 hour source of entertainment, it's just kinda fine.

Also, Star Wars. I love it, but Jesus Christ.

I disagree with those that say The Godfather (still the best movie ever made IMO, every scene is a classic), Black Panther (one of Marvel's very best), and Avatar (I think that's one of the better Adventure movies).

I'll be in the minority here, but I certainly think Goodfellas is overrated, the original Star Wars movie as well (Empire Strikes Back is the real deal tho) which was good but not great. The original Halloween was overrated IMO, though it was watchable for starved horror fans.

2001: ASO and Godfather I and II.

I've tried to watch all of these like half a dozen times and can't stay awake. From what I've seen they seem like good movies, but goddamn they're slogs to get through and as such I find them highly unenjoyable. I'm not ADD, but films need to give me something here and there.

But it's just me, as they're some of the highest praised movies in existence.

I think Marvel movies is overrated. I know its the marvel hate season but I never connected with many of the heroes. Not gonna lie infinity wars and endgame is really good though.

I have my friend, Titanic is very popular movie and i watched it on TV. and it just suck. just awful movie. but its also highest grossing movie of its time is beyond me.

I've never really watched Avatar, but have seen bits and pieces and wasn't impressed. It kind of seemed to have political undertones, and when movies get too political I tend to lose interest a bit.

I think Star Wars was good, but is extremely overrated and obsessed over.

I cringe every time I hear about the Purge. It's an interesting concept for a movie, but it gives society horrible ideas about ways of handling society's problems and paints biased hypothetical pictures of how government and citizens would react under such a society.

I think godfather 1+2 (never seen 3). Just don’t see any appeal at all in these movies and I normally love gangster movies..

Clockwork orange, just to weird and trashy for me.

The rocky movies, honestly don’t get why these movies have gotten so much credit... imo they are incredible dull and Stallone is a terrible actor...
