Anybody got their vaccine yet? I got the J&J vaccine the day before it was paused for investigation. Apparently they found a link between low platelets and blood clots for people who took this vaccine. I'm relatively healthy and I exercise so I don't think I have to worry.

Not yet. We're supposed to start mass vaccination in June, when we're supposed to be getting something like 10 million doses of AstraZeneca. For now we're just "blitzing" Sinovac into containing new clusters.

Yeah, after the AstraZeneca blood clotting speed bump in Europe, you'd expect J&J (and Sputnik V) to have a similar issue, since they use the same technology. Still, the data I've seen is consistent with the benefits far outweighing the risks, as is with all vaccines.

Yup! I know it's working, too, because Bill Gates called me and asked why I was having trouble sleeping.

Yes, but my doctor says I now have reptilian DNA and when I get a girl pregnant she will give birth to the anti-Christ.

Seriously though, got both shots, Pfizer. I didn't feel sick just my arm hurt for a day each time (less the second time) Maybe a bit lethargic, maybe, hard to tell because (1) my job is very tiring labor and (2) I am on the Ritalin.

People shouldn't not do this in worries about second shot, because side effects of second shot sound better than getting Covid. I know people who got it months back saying no big deal got over it whatever but still struggle with lingering issues.

Yes, I have. I had one side effect; my left arm was sore. It feels better now.

Hell yeah! We gotta protect those with immune systems too weak to be vaccinated (and help offset those too stubborn).

Side effects were insignificant compared to the fact that now if I get covid, there is basically a 100% chance I'll be able to fight it off without hospitalization. I basically slept all day after the second shot, but was fine 24 hours later.

This is important because covid will keep mutating if people keep catching it. I'm trying to go see live music again - get vaccinated if you can.

I had mine about three weeks ago, it was the Oxford astrazeneca vaccine. I was surprised as my age group wasn't actively invited at the time, but I was.

No real adverse side effects. Was a little achy in the evening after the jab, next day I was fine. Had a bit of a sore arm, that's it.

Don't trust it. Just going to treat it like the Flu. I never get flu shots and I never will. Rather develop resistance the old fashioned way.

You're all set then.

I'm getting my second Pfizer shot tomorrow. No issues with the first one except for a sore arm for a few days. I'm in Colorado and we went to Phase 2 April 2nd. I got my first shot scheduled the day after that.

Nope, I’ve had the option to for a few months due to my occupation but i chose not to despite the media and people trying to guilt me into getting the shots. It doesn’t prevent me from carrying or spreading the virus or allow me to live my normal life before corona so what’s the point. And who knows if it will cause issues with trying to have kids down the road. Wouldn’t be the first time the government lied.

Fairly ignorant and certainly selfish.

Anyhow, I got the Pfizer vaccine this week. 2nd dose in another 3 weeks.

I don't think my country is done vaccinating citizens who are 70+ years of age yet. All vaccines have side effects, so I'm not worried. Living isolated like this is just terrible, so that's a bigger concern to me...

Second shot on Saturday. Sore arm and was a little draggy the next day, but I also hit the bar the night before so that could always be a factor. :P

I respect your choice. However, nature is very good at killing people who decide not to enhance their chances of survival. My mom had polio. It would have killed her had the vaccine not come when it die. Thus, I wouldn't have been born. I owe my life to vaccines and those people who feel they are not too good for advanced medical science. Again, I respect your choice, but you may want to reevaluate future decisions.

...This is the conclusion you came to? From a person who has had vaccines all my life and do not regret...this is your conclusion?

I know the people who are quoting me are all trying to talk down to me. Imagine that.

Ok, well, what other conclusion am I supposed to come to? If you've been vaccinated all your life, you understand the importance of vaccinations. Yet, you say you never get flu shots, and you won't get this vaccination, which has proven far more fatal than the common flu. Do you just not trust the vaccine that much that you'd rather risk catching COVID and possibly spreading it to someone who can't survive it, or worst case scenario kill you? You're going to ignore the millions of people who've taken and have been fine versus the handful of people who've experienced some bad side effects?

As someone who's been vaccinated all your life, the only conclusion that I can come to is you've fallen victim to the irrational fears surrounding this vaccine that anti-vaxxers have been passing around.

@JustPlainLucas: Nope, nothing irrational. I don't trust the vaccine. I have no reason to trust the long term effects of this vaccine.

I've seen doctors and pediatricians speaking out against this. So I'll happily stay away from it.
