The schools in my county started during my 8th grade year, I never really cared though.

Its like someone yeling at you your no different from anyone else. You are different. If clothes cam in black i wouldn't care. Its the only color i wear for some reason.Nope, that's was one of the things I actually liked about high school since I had to wear uniforms from Pre-K up until 8th grade.

I'm not in high school anymore, but my high school didn't (and still doesn't) require students to wear uniforms. In fact the only one in town that does is one of the religious private schools.t3hrubikscube
i went to one of those religious private schools....maybe not in ur turn.....worst 4 years of life....but i got 17 college credits out of the way before i graduated
People say there clothes makes them an individual and then flock to the crowd that dresses and acts like them.

Absolutely. A person's external appearance defines them as much as their actions. If everyone is dressed the same, everyone is the same.Freedom to express oneself blah blah blah...i'm all for uniforms..at least you don't have girls dressing like sluts and guys ogling them..[QUOTE="Xx_Hopeless_xX"]

I never said there was anything wrong with it in a general sense...i said i prefer uniforms..and stated why..Well when you say "at least you..." that implies you don't want girls dressing like sluts, my question was I guess a poor phrasing of why you think it's good when they can't...

Well when you say "at least you..." that implies you don't want girls dressing like sluts, my question was I guess a poor phrasing of why you think it's good when they can't...
Well for one it shows they actually respect themselves..meaning they think they're actually worth something more then just a body for some pathetically shallow guy to use.. Secondly..it makes guys consider other aspects of them..such as personality and the like..since they're not wearing anything revealing...i prefer things to be left to the imagination..or lack there of.. Thirdly..It discourages said shallow behavior... Fourth..i loathe people that dress slutty to get attention... There are probably more but i can't think of them right now...and again..those are based on my own personal convictions...Absolutely. A person's external appearance defines them as much as their actions. If everyone is dressed the same, everyone is the same.[QUOTE="harashawn"][QUOTE="Mercenary848"]

So if my friend Jimmy comes over and he has the same clothes on as me...does that mean i become Jimmy?
Someone wearing an Iron Maiden shirt is identified as an Iron Maiden fan. If a group of people are wearing Iron Maiden shirts, they are identified as Iron Maiden fans. They are no longer several distinct people, but simply Iron Maiden fans. People dressed the same suddenly become identifiable as just that: people dressed the same. Whether they are doing so to express national pride, fandom, or simply because they have to, they are not seen a multiple people, but a singleentity of people. This is why many people feel at home at their favourite band's concert, or a local sporting event. Everyone is the same externally to an extent. They aren't just a crowd anymore, they are a crowd of Canucks fans, or Iron Maiden fans, or St. Mary's High School students. They are a group of the same "person". However, there is no pride in being forced to dress the same. Wearing high school uniforms only makes a group of unique individuals into a group of dull students.[QUOTE="Joshywaa"]

So clothing alone makes one unique?..I was home-schooled basically right until high school started. And yes, we do wear uniforms. :(I was Home-schooled so nope..

Nobody can be fully identified by one of these qualities alone. Nor can they fully have an identity.[QUOTE="Joshywaa"]
