I was fine with them until I found out you have to buy $150 "battery powered" glasses. What the hell? They can't use the same polarization techniques used in the theaters?

I'm not a fan of it, simply because I don't want to wear glasses when watching or playing something.

Until we get some funky star wars/hologram work going on, I'm not interested.

Not a fan at all because I don't want to have to wear glasses just to watch tv. I'm much more interested in the quad pixel tv.

I thought they were going to be the future of television/movies, until I found out you need to spend upwards of 150$ on the 3D glasses. With those ridiculous costs in today's economy, I don't see anyone pursuing anything more than HD or superHD.

Same here, I was ok with them because you don't always have to view it in 3D but if you do and you want to, any extra pair of those glasses are ridiculously expensive! Why the hell are they so much? Do they have rumble?

Until they figure out how to do 3D without the glasses this will never take off.

I just switched to Blu-Ray. I would like to watch The Seventh Seal in HD but I have no intention to watch it in 3-D.

Polarisation is an old technology which darkens the display and produces ghosting. And if they used it, we'd end up paying even more for 3D sets with polarised screens, even though realistically it shouldn't cost much more anyway.

3D can be good, but with glasses and a huge premium, it will be unattractive. The 3DS should be interesting, because it won't need glasses.

Way too expensive especially for ones that won't require glasses.

True, TV really hasn't change much since it was invented over 75 years ago. We added color and made screens bigger, other than that its fundamentally the same. I think its time for a change.

its going to bomb, hard me thinks. The TVs are VERY expensive and the glasses are ridiculously priced. Even if the glasses were to drop, you will have to purchase a pair for everyone that watches TV in your house. For me, thats like 8:?

i dont like them at all, and i absolutely will not buy one, ever. I think a lot of people feel the same way, and I think that since the corporations finally are getting hd a little more standard that they shouldnt bother with 3d

They have already introduced 'UltraHD', which has a native resolution of 7,680 × 4,320 pixels.

I don't seeing it being a success. Most people are switching to HDTVs now. I don't think anyone has a dire need to watch their programs in 3D, especially for the prices they're selling the TV/Glasses for. Also, I can't imagine anyone wanting to put on a pair of glasses while watching TV.

You have to buy special glasses just to watch them? That's dumb. What are people who wear regular eyeglasses supposed to do?

How is it? More importantly how is it when you watch it for long periods? Thats my biggest concern as im a heavy tv viewer, I don't want my eyes falling out.

Not worth it and not gonna catch on for a while. It's ok for movies so long as it's done well, but other than that, no thanks.

Its taken something like 10 years for HD to catch on, so I think people are judging 3D a little prematurely

3D wont catch on. for tech heads like us, they will probably sell ok, especially for video games and movies. however, for the general public, they wont sell at all. my mom and dad finally just got their first HDTV. i think only like 50% or 60 in the U.S. have HDTV's. you think that 50 to 60% are gonna turn around and buy 3D tv's after they finally got HD? doubt it.

I don't think it is really necessary to replace my old HDTV just to get the 3D feature.

I think it could be interesting for gaming but no way I am buying a new monitor just so I can play in 3-D. It's not that important to me. 3-D TVs sound like the stupidest idea ever.

I still have my first HDTV from 10 years or so ago :P. Still looks great :) imo I like it allot better, the picture seems softer than most HDTV's now but its a heck of allot easier to view. Some tvs now days give me a headache, epically ones with ridiculously high refresh rates.

I saw some 3DTV's demo-ed in my city with which You don't need glasses. Was pretty sweet but... i don't think it wil be a Big hit. Rather something that seeps into our every day life as it slowly becomes optimized and affordable.

3D TV's add an awesome effect, but I feel uncomfortable whenever I use 3D glasses.
