Poll Does gaming reduce your stress? (16 votes)

Yes 88%
No 13%

Sometimes I'm just in the mood to let off some steam. However, there are times in which I just wanna relax, so I hop into a Mario or Animal Crossing game. I'm interested to know how you guys approach stress within the context of video gaming. Does gaming help combat stress for you?

There is no right or wrong answer. 😁

Not a very stressful person to begin with, it's very rare I even let tough days at work, or stupid stuff on the internet wear me down.

However I would note a good game, just like some great music, or chill read will help me be very mellow and further at peace.

So, overall yes. I even find Survival Horror games cozy, which may seem weird to some.

For me, it does help relieving stress on a certain game that's more relaxing after leaving work and as soon as I'm inside my house, I'm ready to play something on my gaming PC for another exciting action/adventure to take the stress off my shoulders.

Games that are relaxing to relieving stress would be:

  • Yu-Gi-Oh card games
  • No Man's Sky
  • Tetris gaming

If I'm stressed and then play a game, I will always feel less stressed after.

I'm not often stressed, but yes. I feel at home/at ease when playing games, been doing it my whole life.

It depends on the port quality.

Depends on the game. Warframe, Horizon games, Subnautica? Less stress. Total War: Warhammer, XCOM, Doom? More stress, but that's the point.

Well... Yes and No , it really depends how my first experience of a game is like then I'll take a look at how much I can stretch the replay value for better or worse. Even when it's at it's most difficult it's something I welcome with open arms

It actually depends. If I'm playing an idle game, such as Tycoon Capitalist Idle, I definitely find it very relaxing. But if I'm on a puzzle in a Japanese RPG for a long time, I really start to feel frustrated, and my stress levels go up significantly.

Yes, but it depends on the game. Recently I played games on lucky 101, this app provides a variety of games to play. So, i played a multiple games on on this app and it felt like I am refreshing myself and it was truely amazing experience.

the only time that a videogame gives me stress or gets me riled up is when I try to do online multiplayer for Mortal Kombat 11 and/or Mortal Kombat 1.

Other people online they overdo it with the comos etc and they don't ease up
