Anyone else not in a rush to go next gen?

I jumped into this gen kind of late and honestly, it was probably for the better. I've caught up and played a lot of great games. Complete editions for half the price they were at launch with all DLC included.

Next gen reveals show a lot of promise but I am in no hurry to fork over $6 - $700 (console plus games and DLC crap) to go next gen. Not to mention the extra I would have to spend on a HDTV since I am almost certain next gen consoles will be strictly HD support at the minimum.

The technical hiccups PS3 and 360 experienced at launch like the LOD errors also has me concerned and cautious of pre ordering. I am hoping current gen support continues for at least another year or so.

I like nice graphics but I am not a graphic whore on the level most gamers seem to be at noticing draw distance, screen tearing and fps so I don't mind playing scaled down versions of next gen releases that are coming to current gen in the meantime. I'll probably get a PS4 in another year or so when the catalog builds up and they work out all the kinks.

The whole social gaming, facebook crap also deters me from boarding the hype train. I enjoy co op and multiplayer, but not to the point where I want my phone sycing with my console asking me to create a facebook account or my gameplay being automatically recorded wasting HD space.

I'm sure there will be options to disable these features, but with so much focus on social gaming and DRM rights being left up to the devs, I prefer to wait and see what tactics devs will employ and what else awaits besides better graphics.

No rush here. I've got my PS3, 360, Wii U, 3DS and Vita and I'll be content for a while to come. Next thing I'll probably do is upgrade my PC.

But hey you won't see me complaining when I pick up my ps4 on launch day. :D

Do they not allow consoles on campus? When I went, even the student lounge for my particular major had a game console in it. I actually made a couple games in college, too, as student projects.

for me personally, no, not in a rush whatsoever. the only game that justified next gen is destiny, and thats not coming out till way later.

gta 5, gran turismo 6, the last of us, there's more than enough to keep you going on this gen for a long time

no one has a gun to your head and making you get a next gen console so why would I even remotely feel rushed? 

Multiplatform gaming is the future and because of this the need for a consoles is reduced. So, I am not in a rush myself since a good chunk of the games are simultaneously being released on the PC for less.

Not in a rush.  I'm too broke these days and that's on top of being married and having a two year old.  Also considering taking some classes this fall, so that makes me even less interested since my free time probably really wouldn't exist.

School is another reason I'm in no rush to go next gen. If I can get registered in time for the fall semester, no way would I have the time or money to invest into next gen.

i usually don't bother with next-gen consoles until after a year.  by then bugs are fixed, prices drop and there's a decent library of games.  also, i have some games from this gen backlogued so i can wait.  also, gta5.

I'm not buying next gen at all, probably not for at least a few years, anyway. There's still plenty of great games to play this gen, and when I do buy a PS4 everything will be cheaper.

I'm no no rush either.  First of all, there are still plenty of games to be played on the PS3.  Some, like Beyond and GTAV haven't even been released yet.  Besides, there's no game being released with the PS4 that I must have.  No rush here.

I've been more hyped than I am now. But then again, the first games that interest me (CoD: Ghosts and Watch Dogs) will also be released on the Playstation 3 so I don't know yet to which console I'm buying it.

I already preordered and have it all paid down, this is the first time i have done it. But i get that people are waiting. There are still a lot of great games for this gen

I'm good staying away from next gen for a few years. And by a few, I mean 3 minimum. Too much content to ever get through, I'll have to stop adding games to the lists at some point, but not yet.

I'm in a rush as I feel that this generation became stale about a year ago! The only game im interested in for this gen now is GTA5, but in all honesty Xbox One can't come soon enough for me!

Maybe I'll get one eventually at a bargain. All my gaming needs have been covered by my pc for a few years at least.

I wouldn't say that I feel/felt rushed but will admit that I did pre-order the XboxOne and Call of Duty: Ghosts. I've always been behind and this is the first time I will actually be able to start from day one, so it is something I am looking forward to. But I am still enjoying my 360 so it's kind of helping me be patient for the release date.bl00dline954

Lol, I'm guilty of rebuying a few games myself. My biggest mistake is buying Day One instead of watching at least the 1st 20 minutes of gameplay before purchase.

1st wave of games at console launch usually are. MGSV is the only real next gen title I'm itching to experience. Everything else I'm interested in is coming to current gen fortunately.

I'll get a ps4 when there's a bunch of story-heavy games incoming, as I don't wanna spoil anything. other than that, I think i'll be happy with ps3 and games from ps+ for a good while.

Wii U is the only Next Gen system out, and Nintendo is not selling it very well. Coolyfett plans on getting Playstation 4 in 2018. 60 dollars is too much for a video game anyway. By 2018 the Playstation 3 will be doing Wii U numbers.
