Fire Emblem is very much like Advance Wars, which is also made by the same company, Intelligent Systems. But there are key differences and I think that Fire Emblem is harder, due to the fact that if one of your character's die, that's it - they're gone and they never come back.
This is very annoying, especially when you are just about to win and a character gets killed. You can keep playing, but I like to keep all of my characters, so I turned it off whenever this occurred.
Anyway, Fire Emblem has very simple gameplay, but it's rewarding and is really fun to play. The game is hard, but not impossible to finish. It's also pretty long, the first time through will take at least a month.
Graphically, the game is on par with Advance Wars. It isn't the best the GBA has to offer, but the graphics don’t affect the fun of the game and they are alright.
The sound is great, it’s pretty much all generic little tunes, but they are catchy and are nice and clear.
This game has great replay value, due to it’s simpleness. It’s almost never boring. In conclusion I’d recommend this game to all owners of GBA, but especially to lovers of strategic games because this is one of the best there is.
