Overhyped? Right.. This game has every element needed to be great.
First note, I guess if you don't like FF7 it's because everyone does, and for that you decide to be the loner outcast and hate this great RPG.
Gameplay:
The gameplay is great, it's easy to control, learn, the battles are great, some people won't like the simplicity, but it really is a great system. You can mix and match materia to make yourself stronger, to make spells hit all or one enemy, just alot of customize options for you to do.
Graphics:
I'm going to give this a 10 and heres why. Now day's the character model GFX would be a joke, but I'm going to do the review as if the game just came out. At that time the graphic's were great, I love the scenery in the game, and they decided to avoid sprites, which wasnt all bad, like I said at the time it was great.
Sound:
Another great thing, possibly the most talented video game music composer created the song's for this game. I love every song in this game, it fit's the scene perfectly. Nothing more can be said, it's nothing short of perfect.
Value:
This game is very odd in that the replay on this game is great, there are a ton of mini-game's, side quests, even hidden party members to pick up alog the gay. Breeding chocobo's is pretty fun, trying to breed them with different ones going for the treasured Gold Chocobo. The storyline looks like it had ALOT of though, and it was executed perfectly, I don't recall getting bored with this game, the only time I turned it off was when I had to sleep, go to school.
I persionally would tell ANYONE who loves RPG's who for some reason has not played this to go out and buy it. Possibly one of the best title's to hit the RPG scene. One other thing I wanted to mention before I wrap this up are the Characters. They all fit their roles well, there were no un-needed/useless characters... Unless you count Yuffie and Caitsith ;p
but seriousley, all the characters had their own persionality and it was just a great game. I hope you enjoyed this review. I hope if you havnt played this yet, this review will make you want to :D
