Fifa Street is the latest in Street games in EA Sports BIG's collect. It joins a family with games such as the NBA Street series and NFL Street 1 & 2. But I believe that Gamespot's 6.7 was a bit harsh on this game. I mean, you cannot expect the same type of game as this year's NBA Street V3. Notice the following. The difference between soccer and basketball. Obviously, some things aren't going to be as cool. Most noticably, the gamebreakers. In V3, you jump and create your own moves, linking them into a huge combo. In soccer, you shoot the ball.. there isn't much to it. I think that there could have been a little lead way for this game because of the sports contrast. But personally, I think this game is great. The game features some nice graphics even in the field. The field gives you a real feel of the place that it is suppose to be. For example, the New York field, it is made real enough to give the player a good Rucker Park type feeling. The player designs are on par with NFL Street and that's pretty good. The game modes are pretty basic, Play Exhibition, Career.. and the rest that you would normally see. The career mode is basically like the other streets in it's family. You start with a created player and a bit of attribute points to boost. Then you assemble a team of players that are just as bad as you are and you play. As you win in different parts of the world, you earn REP and SB. SB Is like your money. There are 3 ways to spend this money. You can: 1) Boost your player stats (NOTE: You cannot boost your teammate's stats, you can only boost your created player). 2) Spend your money to play a player from the city (AKA Upgrade Team), if you beat him, you can add him to your team (Like other streets) or 3) You can choose to spend a certain amount of money to win the city's cup. Each city has a cup and there is an entry fee you must pay to enter. Of course, there is a certain amount of SB you get back if you win the tournament. As you go on and unlock more cities, the prize money at the tourneys get bigger and the players you may try to win are obviously more talented (Otherwise higher OVR). On the flip side, as you advance to unlock more cities, the entry fees for the tourneys increase and the fees to play the certains players also increase. You try and build rep and improve your team until you win all the cups and have high REP. Besides the fact that you add players and play tournaments, you can also choose the 3rd option in every city; Play pick up games. In these, you play different teams in a game first up to 5 goals (NOTE: In tournaments, you play 2 halves. Q-Final & Semi-Final, you play 3 min halves and in the finals you play 5 minute halves) . and they have a famous captains such as Roy Keane and Crespo. Besides unlocking cities, you also unlock new apparel for your team. This is the one thing that you can unlock and put on any member of your choice. (Remember to do more tricks and teases so that you can are created with more REP & SB after the game) This gameplay in this game is very smooth and the tricks are pretty nice. Obviously, you can do different tricks with the right-analog stick and can shift the trick by pressing L1. This allows you to do a different set of tricks. You can also do a "Tease Move", activated by pressing the different directions on the D-Pad. This does mean that if you are not a fan of the left-analog stick... well.. I guess too bad. The gamebreaker is pretty basic. It just gives your shot the extra boost of power and speed but they make it look cool as everything goes Matrix type slow-mo. What I suggest is that you make your own gamebreaker look good by lobbing the ball up until you have a clean shot at the net for a nice header or bicycle kick with your gamebreaker. But one thing that you do not have to do in V3 or NFL Street, you do not have to aim. Because you have to shoot to score in soccer, you must aim with your left-analog stick. As you pass the half mark of the field, a small net will appear at the bottom of your screen with a red target on it. You can move this target with the left-analog stick, wherever it stops when you press the shoot button, is where your shot will head for the net. Everything is basically smooth and no glitches. Everything you would expect from a EA Sports game. FIFA Street is a great game. I think that the only reason that it got the scores that it got is because it is living in the shadows of its family.
Fifa Street is quite fun at first but gets kind of boring because its just the same thing every match. You can do some great skill on the game and score some good goals but the GoalBreaker or something like that what... Read Full Review
