The most technical and realistic football experience available so far in gaming, but is it all that good?

User Rating: 8 | FIFA 10 PS3
So the battle between FIFA and PES has continued for a long time, but I think after this year, there is only one winner, and that is FIFA.
While the graphics look similar to last year, the game has received some modifications. The major new addition to the FIFA franchise, is the 360 degree dribbling. This is great, and makes gameplay look even more realistic, but I still found dribbling and taking on players was too challenging. Players such as Rooney can often be pushed off theball with ease, even by smaller players, and defenders can still somehow catch up to Messi, even on semi pro difficulty.
But FIFA 10 is still a technical masterpiece, which captures all the reality from real life. The manager mode and transfers are similar from last year, but will still amaze with all its down to real life management.
One huge problem in the manager mode though, was that players have coloured arrows which differ depending on their form. If they are in bad form, their abilities go down. The annoying thing, is that players will go down in form if they don't play enough matches, if they get a goal against them. Things like this are so frustrating because your players will suffer and there isn't much you can do for them except put them on and hope they receive a rating of about 9/10 at the end.
But if you look past all this then you'll find the gameplay is fun and realistic. Pitch conditions change the ball physics, and will force you to play differently each game. For example if its wet, you'll find it difficult with passing over the top of defenders,as the ball will skid faster, and move further away from where you intended it to go. Animations are really good, and so is the commentary. When you score the nets look a bit stiffer than they are in reality but its not much of a big deal.
Overall FIFA 10 is a technically brilliant football experience, and if you want realistic gameplay, don't look else where.
