Not just one creepy house, but a whole freakin' village....I'm in.

The second installment of the FATAL FRAME series really ups the ante by not just giving you more macabre haunted buildings to explore, but two heroines for the price of one! Beautiful character designs, wicked sound effects, more add-ons to the Camera Obscura & lots of unlockables make this game a no-brainer for horror fans anywhere. Some of the ghosts are extremely memorable (I actually got somewhat heartbroken over Crimson Kimono - watching the way this child spirit bawls her eyes out makes you wish you could just hug her instead of snapping pics of her...). Overall, the feel of the game has a darker tone than the first installment, but I really feel the character graphics aren't quite as polished this go-around. They are still extremely well-rendered, though, and the unlockable costumes are fun (although I have to admit I wish they could get their outfits to carry over into ALL the cinematics). The ambient sounds of the forest, the creaking of wood floors under your feet, that sigh coming from the next room...if you have headphones, this is DEFINITELY the game to use them on! It ups the creepy-crawly factor by about, oh, 1,000. You will probably end up playing with the lights on and your back propped against the wall - just remember, walls aren't an obstacle for the ghosts! I have enjoyed this title massively, you will not be disappointed.
