I highly reccomend this game to any self-respecting Matrix fan. I haven't yet seen the movie or played the entire game through, but I've gotten far enough through it so that I think I can give a good review. Gameplay: Everything seems to flow together very nicely, not counting the frequent load times, which don't really interrupt you too much. The extra footage really helps the game along, real actors are a welcome relief from the usual 3D models voiced by people who don't even sound like the real actors. The story seems great so far, the controls are solid, and it's easy to create those special Matrix moments that make it all worth it. Graphics: This is where the game suffers the most, which isn't much. The textures are beautiful, the characters are rendered nicely, and the bullet time effect is pulled off without a hitch. But... for the most part, nothing moves and encounters with other living beings are few and far between. The environments are a little bland and repetative. Basically what I'm saying is there's not enough eye-candy. And the lack of blood! Sound: Nothing wrong here. Chatter on the cell phone, fist hitting body, feet hitting metal, bullets exploding out of the gun, grunts as people fall. It's all there, the sounds are just like in the movie and there's even the whooooosshhh as bullet time kicks in. Value: They say it adds alot to the movie, and I'm no judge of that having not seen the movie, but I don't doubt it, the Wachowskis know what they're doing. The hacking is a bonus and just the fact that it is a movie game and it doesn't suck and it's about the Matrix makes it awesome. You can play through with two different characters and get twice the story. Matrix fans, I'm serious, go out and get it... NOW!!! PC, PS2, XBOX, GCN, I don't care, get it, you won't regret it. Non-Matrix fans, chances are you won't get it, maybe the whole thing is too complicated. If that last sentence applies to you, I suggest you watch The Matrix over and over again until you like it and then get the game.
