Plug into the Matrix. How far down does the rabbit hole go? Read my review to find out.

User Rating: 8.3 | Enter the Matrix PS2
Enter The Matrix is a side story that occurs during the evens of The Matrix Reloaded. In the game, you control either Ghost or Niobe.(you get to chose at the beginning).

Gameplay: I remember having the biggest smile on my face, on the first day of playing this game. The moves that you could pull off are really cool looking, and when you use bullet time (focus), everything goes into slow-motion, and you're able to perform even crazier moves (run on walls, flip off walls, do crazy flips, dodge bullets, etc.) The levels get repetitive, but after a while, you switch to a different location. The enemies in the game are really easy to kill, and having guns totally give you the upper hand. In some missions, if you're Niobe- you drive a car, and if you picked Ghost, you lean out the window and shoot squad cars. There are some minor boss fights including a helicopter, and you even run into Trinity on a training level as Ghost. There is also a Hacking mode on the title screen, which is kinda like a minigame, in which you unlock cheats, fmv sequences, etc.

Graphics: Im not gonna lie to you, the cutscenes are horrible. The characters are all blocky, and the faces look all weird, but during gameplay, the character models look awesome, and really smooth. You can really tell that a lot of work went into the lighting, especially in the Chateau. There is movie footage especially made for the game, made by the Wachowski brothers, which are really nice.

Sound: The music in the game is really great. Its the real matrix music, from the 1st and 2nd movies. It really has a great feel to it, and adds to the excitement. One horrible setback for the game, is that during some cutscenes you get this weird echo type noise, and its really weird sounding. Theres definetly something wrong, but it didnt prevent me from enjoying the game since it only happened a few times.

Enter The Matrix is totally underappreciated, because it doesnt look , sound, and play great for many people. If you can overlook some minor flaws in the gameplay, and sound- you should enjoy this game. It really is fun, and you feel really superior to your enemies when you're playing. This game is definetly a classic to me, and no game does the bullet time effect better. I hope you feel the same way.
