They sure don't make them as they used to.
But no wonder, games in the past were "a big deal" and each new hit had its own share of hype that was well deserved.
It may seem that it's "just another 2-D platform", but on the contrary, DK2 is not just that. It is a mixture of amazing worlds that go unbelievably well with the music. This creates an atmosphere that I have not yet experienced in any other game.
DK2 surpasses DK1 in every way. Especially in the atmosphere.
Sure you don't play as DK in this sequel, but you have 2 characters with extremely tight controls.
The music in this game is by far one of the best I've heard in any game.
I have the soundtrack on a CD and I listen to it all the time in my car, I imagine the places while listening and can see where the director of the game wanted to take us, and he did a very good job on doing that.
