The Dead or Alive series, unlike other fighting games, has always been focus more on the female characters than the males. The sex appeal is the biggest selling point of the game, more than the gameplay itself. This time around, Team Ninja just get rid of the fighting stuffs and totally focus on the girls. If done right, making a volleyball game based on the sexiest female game characters could be an interesting concept. However, the volleyball side of this game is so weak you don't even need to play a single round of volleyball to beat the game. Most of the game is about collecting items to customize your girls. The amount of collectables in the game is huge (despite many are the different color version of the same item), and customizing your girls before a match is interesting in the very beginning, but it gets old really fast because it adds nothing to the gameplay. Panning the game camera around and watch the girls rolling around on the sand. Unless digital girls porno is your thing, watching the girls in different angles is not really a fun thing to do. You need to pursuade the girls and make them happy in order to play some volleyball. However this could be a long process, add to the game extremely short (and repetitive) length, the game could ends before you even play a match of volleyball. The volleyball side of the game is so simple it only requires you to move your characters around the court and press a single button to hit the ball. At least the graphics in the game are great for those who would like to spend their time just watching the game on the beach. The included soundtracks are good, it also gives you the option to use custom soundtrack. Overall, the game is all flash with no substance. Unless you are a huge Dead or Alive fans with a very high interest in digital porno, stay away from this game.
