A guilty short lived pleasure.

I have to admit, I've grown fond of this game. It's by no means great or outstanding. It's a unique and quite a surreal game that can offer some fun if you're willing to look for it.

The story is barely in this game, it's as bare as the girls. The ladies from the Dead Or Alive franchise are falsely invited to the fourth Dead Or Alive tournament and end up on a tropical island called Zack Island. It turns out that Zack sent those invitations, and gives all the girls free two week vacations on his tropical paradise. Now it's up to the player on what to do next. Does the player play volleyball? Head to the casino, or play the hopping game? The story is extremely basic and is really a poor excuse to make this game.

The volleyball is what you'll mainly be doing on Zack's Island. It plays well, though it's not perfect nor is it mind-blowing. It can at times be exciting but most of the time it's boring or frustrating. There's also a hopping game, which requires the player to make their character hop across floats on top of the swimming pool, and to get to the other side as quickly as possible to earn quick cash. It soon gets boring though and there's no real skill involved. The casino is also there to earn quick bucks but it's more about luck then it is about skill. Collecting the swimsuits for your characters is perhaps the main reason as to why you need the money. As each swimsuits gets more skimpy and revealing, the higher the price goes up. There's quite a variety of swimsuits available to collect, plus accessories and the like. But is it worth it? Well, yes and no really. It's great that you can see your favourite DOA girl bare all but after awhile it tends to lose it's appeal, both sex and otherwise. But the strange thing is, there's something about this game that makes you warm too it and I can't quite explain what it is.

The graphics are beautiful in regards towards the attractive girls and the environments. However, you can quickly see which of the two gets the most attention on. The girls, yes the girls are delicious eye candy. Yes their breasts bounce when they move and it makes you feel guilty when you start to look at their bodies that are poorly clothed by their swimsuits, but there's no denying that this game looks beautiful. The sound is okay. The licensed soundtrack will have a couple of tracks that some people may like. But there's always the option of putting your own tunes in so that's a bonus. The sound effects aren't that inspiring, and the girls all speak in Japanese, which may surprise a few people when playing this game. It doesn't distract you at all if you're mesmerised by the girl's other attributes, and the basic gameplay. This game is a unique game. If collecting items and revealing swimsuits is your thing then this game will last you for quite a while. Though if you're after an in-depth volleyball game this will lose it's appeal extremely quickly.

This game is generally okay. The gameplay at times leaves a lot to be desired as most of the game is tedious, repetitive and downright boring. It's harmless fun at the end of the day. The graphics are awesome, the girls's all have sex-appeal and collecting swimsuits adds to that. The sex appeal just about saves this game though. Rent it or buy it if you see it going cheap.
