Although the franchise fell due to the 3D generation of games, this game will always be up there with the classics like Zelda, Super Mario's, Castlevania's, Metroid's, and Mega Man. Up Up, Down Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Select, Start....I could still hear the intro music while punching in this code, it will forever be in my memory.

Side scrolling action packed non-stop action shooter, over -the-top boss fights that gave you a rush when you figured out how to defeat. Last levels really felt like you were heading to a place of no return, either save the world and die trying. Would love to see a return of this franchise into the 3D realm and done correctly.
