Having recently played and finished Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, I am impressed by the direction Konami has taken with this series. They never seem to run out of new creatures with a gothic/ horror twist and the levels always adhere to the “haunted” theme. Now we have a story set in the future, and I was fully expecting robots with a penchant for blood and automatic Star Trek doors that would love to cut you in half, but none of that nonsense was here. A worthy chapter in the Castlevania run. * Gameplay: RPG elements are fun additions. Collecting souls and using their powers from the huge cadre of enemies is very cool. If anything, the game is too short. * Graphics: Larger character art and quality animations improve upon the smaller ones in COTM. Backgrounds are true to the game’s gothic theme. My eyes were never bored. * Sound: How do they keep coming up with theme-appropriate music? Catchy beats with a dark tone fill the atmosphere. I loved they way they kept the Japanese voice acting. * Value: Even after I finished the game, the urge to play was as strong as ever. Multiple possible endings plus a bonus if you get all the souls. * Tilt: I’ve only played a few Castlevania games and loved them all
