introducing the soul system: easier, or implements new strategic thinking?
User Rating: 8.2 | Castlevania: Akatsuki no Minuet GBA
Second castlevania game for me, after dawn of sorrow. (yes out of order i know but oh well) so this is the game that started the soul system. i enjoy the soul system a lot, i believe that it implements new strategies to defeating enemies and bosses. and it adds a new variety of weapons to your arsenal because you don't have to always use melee weapons, you can cast spells/abilities with the souls. i love the images they use for the characters, they are very well drawn, and are much better than the anime style in dawn of sorrow.
the game itself is a bit short, but it offers plenty to do, since you have to get 100% of the souls to get the goodies such as Chaos Ring and Rare Ring. And the variety of endings that you can get depending on what souls you use is also very well done.
All in all, it is a very well developed GBA game, and one that anyone that wants a good side scrolling 2-d action adventure should pick up.
