The single greatest FPS ever to grace the TVs of gamers everywhere finally comes to the WII - with encouraging results.
For a game that got nearly zero recognition, the player score is at 8.9. That's rather impressive for a Wii game (even the predecessor, World at War, only got an 8.5). Now, since Reflex came out the same day as Modern Warfare 2, there has been little to no media attention. Any critics reviewing it are automatically comparing it to the 360 and the PS3 versions, which is not a fair comparison. The Wii runs 480p for its graphics, while the X-Box 360 runs 1080p, full HD picture. That's 600p of difference, which kill MW:R, since at least a third of most reputable reviewer's review now deals with the game's graphical ability, or lack thereof.
The campaign is short and brutal, just as I remember it from the 360 version. For a Wii game, it is visually impressive. Multiplayer is amazing, like a more involved version of the original's Multiplayer. No hackers have hit the online yet, so gameplay is fair. The weapons and perks still unlock at a maddeningly slow rate for higher levels (i.e. not getting P90 for an hour of gameplay at Level 39), but overall the Multiplayer is still what the other versions offered. On the Wii, with its lower graphics power, you really have to have a good eye to snipe, so it gives the game an immersion effect that wasn't entirely there on the other systems.
Overall, this game gets a 9/10 from me. It's broken down score is as follows:
Controls 10
Graphics 8
Multiplayer 9
Length 8
Enjoyment 10
Overall Average Score 9
