OK, so the game is BLACK, you play as a Operative from a Counter-Terrorist organization that gets deployed in a hotspots on a fictional Country to take out a a Terrorist Leader. Before I begin my review I will say that this game can be picked up at Blockbuster for around 10 bucks.
1. GRAPHICS- Even to this date This game is nothing short of amazing with it's incredible graphics. Criterion Games really pushes the limit for the PS2. This game can easily past for a an 06 Next-Gen game. The lighting effects and Rim shine is the best the PS2 can Offer. The mere destruction that the player can leave with just Projectile Weapons is amazing but with explosives, I couldn't believe my eyes. This game is "THE BEST LOOKING" game on the Ps2. Good job Criterion, You have earned "Best Graphics" for PS2 from me.
2. GAMEPLAY- The controls are the standard FPS controls, The controls maybe easy to reach but don't respond so easy so, If your coming from Halo or Call of Duty and pick this game up, Be Warned. Also the enemy A.I. is a bit bland, Sometimes enemy's will just charge without firing and when they get up to you, they just run away. Also the Enemy will give you a few cheapshots that will have you griping your controller. Other than that, when the controls are doing what you want them to do and when the enemy A.I. is playing good, the game is a blast.
3. STORY- The game's story is bit confusing, First off, the Characters don't really get attached to you well, and this game really only has one memorable moment, The Story is kinda thrown together really. At one moment you'll be fighting in busy uptown, and the next Level, your fighting in the back country Woods, and your like " eh mate?" The Story could of been better by X1000 but hey, The graphics and trail of destruction is what really makes this game. Sadly though you can complete the game in about 4 hours depending on you gaming skill.
4. OVERALL- Overall, Black is a game that is trying to be what it isn't Criterion tried to make a great FPS, but it feels like EA pushed gave Criterion to little time to really Complete the game. But since it is know 2010, I highly recommend this game to be a rent of GameFly or just hunt down and buy the game for 5 bucks at the most. That is my review on Black.
