World War Z is currently in development for Nintendo Switch and Publisher Focus Home Interactive has also announced that World War Z GOTY Edition is launching on May 5 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The GOTY package includes the full base game, a new location with three new missions, and all upcoming and existing content included in the Season Pass.

The French city of Marseille is the setting for three new PvE missions, featuring its own maps, story, and characters. Additionally, the GOTY Edition comes bundled with new weapon packs, including The Lobo Weapon Pack, Biohazard Weapon Pack, Military Bundle Weapon Pack, the upcoming Last Aid Weapon Pack, plus one more upcoming weapon pack. The Professionals Character Skin Pack and War Heroes Character Skin Pack are also included.

Now Playing: World War Z: Massive Zombie Horde

On top of this, purchasing the GOTY Edition grants you access to a year's worth of free content added to World War Z since it launched. This includes the wave-based Horde Mode Z, Xbox One-PC cross-play, new PvE missions and enemies, a weekly challenge mode, extreme six-skulls difficulty setting, and more, as well as a new playable class with a unique skill tree and abilities, which is coming in a free update later this year.

The Switch port, meanwhile, is currently in development at Saber Interactive, as reported by IGN. There's no word on whether it will include the aforementioned GOTY content, and it's currently without a release date.

Initially released in April 2019, the co-operative zombie slayer was awarded 6/10 in GameSpot's World War Z review. Alessandro Barbosa said, "World War Z has many rough edges that are easy to spot, exacerbated by limited content that makes repeated playthroughs less interesting with each run. But it's also a cooperative shooter that has the space for those dynamic and ridiculous player stories to emerge in. The rush of taking down a swarm with friends is core to what makes World War Z's action work so well, and it rewards you well for the time spent on the classes and weapons you like. It could benefit from having more to go around, but if there's a future for World War Z and its chaotic cooperative action, this is a good foundation to build it on."

Yeah, I'd say this game is now at least an 8/10. More than enough replayability for a reasonable price.

That said, I did get it for free from Epic. But didn't expect much in that regard.

How exactly does this mean they're doomed?

@emperor_dogma: I’m guessing maybe it was sarcasm. Considering almost every day we have people who have apparently no knowledge about how technology works saying “switch can’t handle that”. Hell even respawn laughed about the power of switch and then a game that makes them millions all of a sudden will work on phones.

@ryanthegeneral: I'm hoping it was sarcasm, but if not I wanted to know what "logic" they had that said the Switch was doomed.
