Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have revealed the first gameplay trailer for Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, the next entry in the turn-based Pokemon spinoff series for 3DS.

Judging by the trailer, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon looks very much like previous games in the series, with players exploring randomly generated dungeons as a team composed out of 20 playable pokemon.

Super Mystery Dungeon will launch for 3DS in North America this winter.

The most recent entry in the series was Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, which was released in the west in 2013. In a 5/10 review, critic Heidi Kemps wrote: "It's as cute as a button, but dull, simplistic dungeon exploration drags Gates to Infinity into mediocrity." Nintendo also recently revealed that the series sold more than 13 million copies worldwide.

Ok??? I just ask when are they going release the game I nev said anything about the developers plus it doesn't matter who works on it you just can't have two similar games with the same publisher release side by side it doesn't work like that for example Battlefield hardline and Star Wars battlefront have same publisher EA but different release dates I which btw have a 9 month difference but if this mystery dungeon game and other games keep releasing then that will push Pokemon Z back see want I'm saying???

@gregglle: I came to that conclusion in the mid 90's. Though I still played the SNES regularly, I MUCH preferred the Genesis for it's lack of censorship, and more teen oriented approach. Then I moved to the Playstation in 97, which started getting even more mature content. Nintendo make some fun games, but just don't have enough M rated titles.

Guess I'll be the first one here to say I'm freakin' stoked for this. Also, Riolu back as a starter! Bring back some more Explorers elements with some of the better Gates features, and you'll have one happy customer here. Can't wait for more of the music, too.

Does the 3DS have so little memory for textures that all games have to look so jagged? Isn't there some way for them to improve them? I love the games on my 3DS (and I have the new one), but it hurts my eyes after a little bit of playing.
