VR-1 announced Thursday that it will release an updated version of its VR-1 Conductor networking technology at the Tokyo Game Show and will be handing out trial versions of Conductor and demonstrating products.

Conductor is VR-1's multiplayer technology that helps reduce Internet latency, manages servers and clients, and adds network administrative functions like customer billing and security. Version 1.1 will include relational database support, a more efficient communication protocol, better bandwidth management, and improved player synchronization.

"VR-1 remains committed to developing a standard technology platform for hosting online-only games that can evolve with the changing needs of developers, networks, and end users," said Mark Vange, chief technology officer at VR-1. "To this end, we have added new features to VR-1 Conductor to make it even more powerful, flexible, and functional."
