Viking: Battle For Asgard now available for PC

PC version is now on sale on Steam, as today's daily deal.

Oh, I so very much hope that there is a huge emphasis on the underworld and the dark depths of that world, I surely wouldn't be interested in playing YET ANOTHER historical viking sim.

I think that they ruined the opportunity they had with this game. They made it look Disneyfied and the lore was half arsed. The large scale combat was ok, but that's about it. That said though some of the scenery was brilliant, rock faces and rolling ocean etc. I bought it on release. It was a very expensive let down (I think it was about £50 when it was released on 360). I got rid of it eventually as it still hadn't drawn me in after many hours of play, a few months later I bought it again second hand to give it a second chance, I think I gave it away in the end. I'll not be bothering with this for my PC.

It would be dope to see a medieval fable game that has huge large scale battles like this. For this game kinda reminded me of a poor mans fable if I remember correctly.

Indeed this was a VERY underrated game. I loved it! Great hack and slack gameplay and tons of enemies onscreen like youre in a real battle. I really hope CA makes another game like this..

It's an OK game.

Lots of issues for sure but also lots of fun.

Not everybody will be able to enjoy it....the graphics over gameplay crowd won't for sure...

A largely unappreciated game. I had a blast with it, not to mention the big battles of 200+ enemies and allies on screen are brutally satisfying.

I bought this game used for $8 at my local Gamestop. The game has its issues. Obviously. But it provided a lot of fun and for $8, I couldn't complain. As a matter of fact, for as much fun as I had for as cheap as I got it, I'd say it's been one of best games for fun factor as a ratio of cost.

15$ for one of the worst game to come out this gen which came out 4 years ago ? Is sega is that much need of money ? The hands of the chracter doesn't close on the weapons the characters are wielding, they are just glued in their open hands, invisible walls, framerate issues in every battle and I'm passing. This game got a 5.5 if I remember correctly, whoever gave that score was generous.

What to expect from a average console game. And wait, it is a port. LOL.

For $15 that's a great value. Good game (not great, but good).

I've always wanted to play this game but couldn't find a copy at my local game store :(. Hooray for PC ports!!!

For some reason I really liked this game, I mean it had flaws sure. But I play this once a year and I can't justify why. I suppose I really liked the large scale battles and the "gathering" of armies. Still, approach with caution - there are quite a few flaws and no decent story.

Did they fix the awful framerate and terrible design of the last half hour of the game?

I am glad some console only games make it also to the PC like Viking and Alan Wake lets hope for Metal Gear Revengeance PC as well.

I got a full 1000/1000 achievements on this game...there were some really rough spots in the game if you wanted to max it out. I did it in one go, but overall I had fun. PC only gamers should check it out if they never got to play the console game four years ago.

I have always wanted to play this game, but I guess I overlooked it over the years. This could be the time I may play it.

Very nice game, overall well made. Sure the large scale battles could of been done better(would of loved more control over troop movements and such) but the game was worth every penny I paid for it and more on the PS3. $15 is a really cheap for this game.

I'm so excited about this four-year-old game that I crapped my pants.

@DaneGamer basically exactly the same goes for dragon's dogma, well ingame cutscenes not pre-rendered. Though DD is more action orientated than VBfA ironically a Viking is a stealth machine in the game.

Good, finally get a working version. On ps3 it crashed a lot (the big battle was never done), also some quests got bugged. Hope it's fixed in the pc version.

It was a fun game when it came out. I remember playing it all the way through on 360.

Wait for the inevitable Steam Holiday Sale to pick it up for cheap. It's worth a playthrough if you enjoy 3rd person hack and slashers.

Plus it had an achievement called "Assassin of Assassins" that alone is reason enough.

I guess they just wanted to hop on the bandwagon of the bad pc ports that came out lately and get profit from gamers not expecting much of those.

Great game wish there was more games like this it was fun from start to finish.

warning: this is a lazy port, ie as bad as dark souls, its even framerate capped to 30! not sure if the modders will even bother fixing this one.

great game...worth 7.99,at least, thats what i paid for it on ps3 anyways...the companies are stupid,release an old game,instead of releasing all platforms when it was made.bring back pc gaming,it beats consoles anyday of the week
