Stumbling across even one zombie is probably enough for any normal, healthy human being to have an intense and immediate reaction. But really, when is it ever going to be just one zombie?

No Caption Provided

With Turtle Rock Studios' Left 4 Dead going gold yesterday, Valve is honoring the occasion with a combo deal to rival last year's Orange Box. Dubbed the Valve Complete Pack, the package contains 22 titles in all, spanning the breadth of Valve's 12-year development history.

In addition to the aforementioned zombie shooter, the Valve Complete Pack includes all of the game maker's premiere titles, including Half-Life, Half-Life 2, its first two expansions, Portal, and Team Fortress. Also packed in are a number of Source engine-powered spin-offs, including Counter-Strike, Half-Life: Blue Shift, the original Team Fortress, and Day of Defeat, to name a few. For good measure, PopCap's Peggle Extreme is also party to the proceedings.

The Valve Complete Pack is available through the game maker's online distribution service Steam for $99.99. By Valve's tally, that's a $134.82 savings over buying each of the products individually.

leoleez Posted Nov 19, 2008 10:40 pm PT ohh nice, i hate steam though, if u buy something they dont have records so you lose what you by with your computer That's not true. I've moved to like 3 different computers since I began to use seam and it as saved each purchase, and allowed me to re-download and install the games on every computer I have owned. All you have to do is sign in using your steam ID and you can download the game again.

I only have HL2, since a mate gifted it to me earlier this year. Still quite new to Steam, but that look's like a tempting deal! Can we get it in UK, I don't see it in Steam yet?

@Superdude475: I'm assuming that it's all of it or none of it, since it's called "the complete pack".

Do we have to buy the entire pack or can we just buy it separately. I already have Half Life 1 but I want Blue Shift & Opposing Force.

The only thing that would be better is if they put the collection on PS3 or Xbox360

DataDream - It doesn't include Left4Dead it's just to celebrate its launch. Problem is of course that most ppl bought these games years ago and unless they lost their copies and are feeling nostalgic not many ppl are going to get it. Even though it's an awesome deal.

Might get this, since ive played all of those games but never bothered to buy any of them lol. And it'd be more than a $134.82 savings compared to someone whos bought those titles at full-price.

Don't care, as I play all my Valve games on the game console. It's a good deal for PC gamers who own none of those games, but is that even possible? Even PC gamer who's a FPS fan has at least 2-4 games in their collection I'm sure. I'm not even a big PC gamers and I have Half Life and Counter Strike.

too bad the majority of those games are already owned by the majority of the valve fanbase. i mean i got the orange box and have a copy of half-life 2 to give away as a present but everyone i know has it! why can't i trade it for like the Ship or something?

WOW - that is a crazy good deal - especially when one of the titles is a brand new AAA IP (L4D) and The Orange Box titles are all included - and then there's a bunch of other games too!!! Just L4D and The Orange Box together are worth the amount - let alone 16 additional titles on top of that! Oh and... thenephariouson - FYI - GS just recently had a short article about Episode 3 - and Valve is saying that while it is definitely in production that it is more than a year off still. So no need to complain yet - it's far too early. :)

wait, does that mean they source-ified blue shift? I cant wait to ragdoll that fat, doughnut eating Otis guy. And then pretend that blue shift doesn't exist and play Opposing Force instead.

Allow me to rephrase myself: TFC sucked in comparison to the much faster, smoother and more responsive original TF.

The Valve Complete Pack is not something new. It has been around since they had alot of HL based games and no shopping cart system. It is just every year they add more games to it, it has now gone from 21 games to 22. And TheDanSandwich, Garry's Mod is not a Valve game, its a third party mod, although I am with you, that it should be with the complete pack.

That sounds awesome (if only I had a decent PC...). The only thing missing would be Garry's Mod. I've fooled around with that at my buddy's house for hours, but it's only like ten bucks, but it still would have been cool to see in there.

You can play those games on a "cheap" PC today, GPUs have come down in price, RAM is cheap and you can get a decent mobo+ CPU on the cheap as well. Don't listen to those who say you need to spend $1000.

"powerful gaming PC" lol, its not like you're running all 22 games at once, nowadays it takes like a $400 PC to run good old Half Life 2 on high, well if you build anyway

Valve has always been known for it's fan-service and this shows here. Offering a product at under 50% of it's standard price... who loves ya baby?
