The popular fighting game is getting another mobile release this summer.

Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition is in the works for iPhone and iPad, Capcom announced today.

Capcom has released a few Street Fighter games for mobile in the past, including Street Fighter II, Street Fighter IV, and Street Fighter IV: Bolt. Champion Edition is an improved version of the original Street Fighter IV port, boasting improved visuals, three new characters, and support for more recent, wider-screen devices.

Champion Edition adds Poison, Ibuki, and Dundley to the roster of characters, bringing the total up to 25. Players can fight against AI or online via Wi-Fi. The game is controlled with a four-button virtual pad on screen, which "allows players to execute moves through multiple key combinations and shortcuts," according to Capcom. The game will also support external controllers and gamepads.

Champion Edition launches this summer, although Capcom has yet to give a firm release date. There's no word on a price yet, either, but Street Fighter IV currently costs $4 on the iOS App Store. You can pre-register for news about the release of the game here.

All you privileged home owners with televisions and consoles clearly dont understand, you're not the targeted consumer. This is excellent news for all those homeless people who want to enjoy a quality fighting game experience at an affordable price. Panhandlers will have to work a little harder to get enough change for a gamepad (assuming theyre not spending all their earnings on dope) but it will be worth it!

/laughs hysterically. What an abomination.

'The game will also support external controllers and gamepads.'

/alright, but find a half-decent one.

@Thanatos2k: It's actually really fun and a simplified version of the full game.

@Thanatos2k: That's what I want to know. Good question. Probably an idiot who don't mind tapping screen and not have any type of control over anything he's doing.

@angrycreep and @Thanatos2k: according to all the combo videos i've seen about this game on youtube, you both seem to be wrong.

Seriously guys.... This is Gamespot, not some random ass blog on the internet. The game is called SFIV: Volt.... Not Bolt. Also he's called Dudley not Dundley... C'mon guys!

@wildmatt: I've been going to this site since it was videogames.com and each year it gets worse and worse. It's pretty sad.
