Ubisoft Won't Include Physical Copies In UK Collector's Editions For Upcoming Xbox One Games

UPDATE: It has been confirmed by Ubisoft that this would only affect UK versions of the game and not American copies.

How can you be a collector... if there's no physical game to collect?

Phew, I'd be pissed if I had a pre-order for Xbox. For $200 there's no excuse not to include both a physical and a digital copy, but if you're only gonna do one, it should be physical in a collectors edition imo.

What a waste of money!

The main reason for most collectors is to have a physical copy. At least that's what I've always expected. This is just plain stupid.

Personally, should do away with physical all together and just go digital. I mean it's 2020... sure if I was playing a game like Halo back in the day and wanted to bring it to my friends house and they didn't have it sure.....but those days are long over with. If I want to play a game with my wife, need a digital copy or buy the game twice....digital is stored in the cloud, can delete the game, then retrieve it later....don't have to pop in a disc each time to just play the dang game. The point is this day and age physical copies seem obsolete....keeping physical around because people collect the disc sounds stupid just my opinion of course. I also like the idea of hey no more physical copy means cheaper game....if they came out and said $70 for the game or we do away with physical and you pay $60 for digital...sounds a lot better to me.

They should have removed the game from Collector's Editions across the board. I liked when some publishers did that and it should have been a trend

Little late now, but they ought to have just removed the game from the collectors' editions entirely and knocked the price down $60. Splitting a limited run item across multiple platforms just means some buyers will have to get the version for the system they don't want to play on because that's all that's in stock, then spend more money if they want the game on their preferred system. Just make it cheaper leave a space for the disk and let collectors buy the game normally to fill it.

Next they'll be wondering why their Collector's Editions aren't selling.

Thank goodness Ubisoft doesn't make a Console, otherwise it wouldn't come with the AC Adapter/Power Cord.

Could they include both? I would like to play without a disc, but also want to have a disk for collection.

The whole point of a "Collector's Edition" is the actual physical game.
