Transformers: Battlegrounds Announced, And We Know Almost Nothing About It
Hasbro and Outright Games have announced a new Transformers game, but even after seeing the trailer we have questions.
Hasbro has announced a new Transformers game coming this year for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Transformers: Battlegrounds from developer Coatsink pits Megatron's Decepticons against Bumblebee's Autobots.
The trailer shows an overview of a battle, but it's scant on details of how exactly the combat works. We see the Autobots waging their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons, as you do, but it's difficult to suss out much gameplay detail. Coatsink promises both single-player and multiplayer modes for the tactical game.
We do get lots of appearances from well-known Transformers like Optimus Prime and Arcee, and the overhead perspective shows off a bright cartoon art style. At one point an Autobot is ducking behind a wrecked van, suggesting a cover mechanic.
Transformers: Battlegrounds is coming on October 23, 2020.
