Total War Developer Making Halo Wars 2

I hope they make the game more mechanical like starcraft. Halo wars was fun but way to simple to be great at the game.

I hope they don't make this game like a total war game, it's nice but boring in my opinion. The only RTS i loved and played for hours was battle for middle earth 1, 2, and the expansion. It was probably the most balanced RTS out there and better than command and conquer. I hope they put it in that style it will play better and be more multiplayer friendly if they do. Though honestly even 9 years later and the BFME2 community is still going at it, just saying.

BFME2 = ONLY GOOD EA GAME

I've been a fan of the Total War series since the original... Fantastic PC games.

If anyone could do the Halo Wars sequel justice it's Creative Assembly.

There are three things no one has ever really gotten right ever.

1. Halo Wars.

2. Creative Assembly RTS.

3. Strategy games on console.

For your consideration: Halo Wars 2, from Creative Assembly, on Xbox One.

Hopefully it's worth playing more than once unlike halo wars which is awful didn't take long for me to give up that crap.

Yes I was hoping for Halo Wars sequel this is great news. It is about time Halo Wars got anther installment.

Dammit, leave Creative Assembly in peace to make historic Total war games.

They will try to make it work on both a console and PC, and we will end up having a mediocre game instead of a great game if they had went at it on PC or x bone.

Maybe Microsoft can add keyboard & mouse support for the Xbox One version. Other than that, this was a pleasant surprise. :)

Microsoft also made the smart (imo) decision to announce this for PC as well.

I greatly dislike what SEGA has done with Creative Assembly lately and I haven't been a fan of Halo since 3... and yet, I can't help but be really excited for this. Especially on PC, where, as a CA game, it will truly shine.

Hopefully SEGA keeps their grubby paws away from this one and it's just MS and CA all the way. That would be amazing.

@mori70: Yep, it does say "coming fall 2016 for Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs". I don't think it would be mentioned if it were otherwise, would probably receive backlash if they were to falsely say such.

INSANE. Microsoft is outdoing themselves. And to put Halo Wars in the hands of CA? Unreal... Couldn't be more pumped.

Damn, super excited now, I totally thought the Halo Wars series was going to be abandoned after Ensemble went under. Thankfully this is coming to PC though, not to say it can't be fun on consoles, but playing RTS's on consoles is a lesser experience than on PC. Now time to open my wallet and set aside whatever amount of money for whatever collectors edition they have, screw digital this time around.

i hope for a 3rd race to play, would really add a new level of strategy. Hoping Creative Assembly can follow in the big shoes Ensemble left.

Well I don't think anyone was really asking for this, but I don't mind seeing Creative Assembly take a break from the Total War franchise, as they haven't really been doing it any favours lately. I'm all for a decent RTS if they can make it happen though, all the power to them, Halo branding or not, I really don't care... and maybe they'll learn a couple things they can use on the next TW game like some basic AI path-finding and the like!

II just came. I'm a huge fan of Halo Wars and a dream I've been waiting years for is coming true :)

As much as I love the Total War Franchise, I really hope they don't go that way, something like the first Halo Wars but optimized for PC would be awesome.
