Sitting atop Facebook's top ten "most talked about" games for 2015 is FIFA 15, which was released in September 2014. Rounding out the top five were Fallout 4 and Fallout Shelter (combined in this chart), Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Mortal Kombat X, and Batman: Arkham Knight.

Check out the full top ten list below.

Facebook Top 10 Games of 2015

  1. FIFA 15
  2. Fallout Shelter & Fallout 4
  3. Call of Duty: Black Ops III
  4. Mortal Kombat X
  5. Batman: Arkham Knight
  6. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
  7. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
  8. Dying Light
  9. Star Wars: Battlefront
  10. Halo 5: Guardians

Facebook also today announced its Game of the Year and other category winners. The company has changed its approach over the years, but this year, the list factors in everything from user reviews to "data-driven ranking of virality." Here's more on how Facebook decided its winners this year.

"What we've learned in that time is that there is no one golden approach to coosing the 'best' games," Facebook said in a statement. "Some games have strong retention, but don't grow quickly. Some games grow exponentially in a matter of months--but are forgotten within a year. Older games have stronger engagement than younger games; newer games launch across mobile and Facebook.com simultaneously, creating shifts in player engagement."

With that context, Facebook's complete list of game of the year winners is below. Note, too, that PlayStation 4 was among the winners for Best Facebook Integration, while Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom won the award for best ad campaign.

So the most talked about games are obviously the ones that had the biggest expectations & delivered the least. FB rationale....

"there is no one golden approach to coosing the 'best' games," Perhaps there is no golden approach to spotting typos either?

Either way, this Top 10 list is more in line with my own preferences, so I shall not entirely scoff at it, but I will however scoff at their awards because Facebook games are meaningless.

Sony is clearly focusing on social media garbage and tend to avoid adding features that are more relevant for gaming, so that's definitely NOT a good thing.

Just because they talk about those games a lot doesn't mean they only say good things about those games.......just saying......to broaden the perspective a little....
