TLOU Star Bella Ramsey Had To Remind Kit Harington Of His Lines On Game Of Thrones

Harington kept thinking that a child actor was "wiping him off the screen."

It's been seven years since Kit Harington and Bella Ramsey starred together on HBO's Game of Thrones in the last season. Ramsey played young noblewoman Lyanna Mormont and captivated fans with their performance. Since then, Ramsey has made a major name for themselves, taking on the role of Ellie in The Last of Us.

Recently, Harington interviewed Ramsey for Interview Magazine about their working together, Ramsey's prospects, and what he remembers being outworked by a child actor. They last saw each other on set when Ramsey was 14, having already made small appearances for the last couple of years of the show. Ramsey started working on Game of Thrones when they were 11, and remembers one day when they helped Harington with a scene.

"I remember not feeling like a child, but now I see 11-year-olds and realize how tiny they are, so it's weird to me that I was that size and that young, because I didn't feel that tiny," Ramsey remembered. "I don't know whether you remember this, but I remember it quite vividly and have some remorse for it now, but during that scene I was mouthing your lines to you."

Ramsey continued. "Now I'm like, 'Oh my gosh, how awful.' But at the time, it came from a very innocent place of being like, 'Kit's struggling with his line and I know it, so let me just mouth it to him."

Harington remembered that moment but didn't take offense. "It wasn't at all [annoying]. If anything, I was like, 'Oh god, I've got to up my play. I came here not really being comfortable enough with my lines, in the arrogance of however old I was, thinking I'm just opposite some child. And then that child actor is wiping me off the screen.' Not that it's a competition, but you're like, 'Oh, I've got a bit too comfortable in my Jon Snow-ness."

They also talked about how Ramsey has started writing their own scripts. They shared no details, but mentioned it's a feature that is "sort of ready to be properly made" now. The two joked about hiring Harington to play a father, but how he's "not quite old enough."

All seasons of Game of Thrones are available to stream on Max. New episodes of The Last of Us air Sundays at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET on HBO and Max.
