Rockstar Games announced Friday the groups and songs that would appear on its upcoming skateboarding videogame Thrasher: Skate and Destroy.

Hip-hop groups from both the US and Europe will be featured, including Run DMC, Public Enemy, the Sugar Hill Gang, The Freestylers, and Sniper, among others.

"Hip-hop is the most dominant force in youth culture today, and it has shaped an entire generation of global youth," stated Sam Houser, president of Rockstar Games. "Hip-hop's influence and impact can be felt on the airwaves, today's fashions, on television, in movies, and now, video games. The soundtrack to Thrasher: Skate and Destroy is Rockstar Games' way of paying respect to hip-hop culture and its pioneers and will set new standards for musical and audio excellence in video games."

Thrasher: Skate and Destroy is set to skate on into stores for the PlayStation on November 15.
