The PS5 Is Getting An Officially Licensed Wireless Fightpad Next Month

The Hori Wireless Fighting Commander Octa Pro releases on April 14, and preorders are now open.

If you’re interested in improving your fighting game setup but don’t want a traditional fight stick, the upcoming Hori Wireless Fighting Commander Octa Pro for PS5 and PC should be on your radar. Hori's wired Commander Octa is one of the most popular controllers dedicated to fighting games on PlayStation, and the new model drops the wire while adding more premium features and customization options. The Fighting Commander Octa Pro is available to preorder at Amazon for $100 ahead of its April 14 release.

As mentioned, a more affordable variation of the controller is already available--the Hori Fighting Commander Octa. It’s not quite as robust as the upcoming Pro model, but this $59 wired controller still features an 8-way analog stick, six face buttons, and support for PS5, PS4, and PC.

Beyond the Commander Octa lineup, we've rounded up a handful of other fightpads and traditional fight sticks that are worth checking out if you're looking for a dedicated option for your favorite fighting games.

I have one of the wired versions, and it is the worst fightpad I ever used outside of Madcatz.

I'm definitely going to grab one. Besides fighting looks like the perfect retro style to play Sonic on

Looks pretty good. I wonder how the right analog stick feels.

I'm still annoyed that Hori didn't bother getting its previous PS4 version of this fightpad whitelisted for PS5 fighting games. Probably just to sell more units.
