The Callisto Protocol Debuts Scary New Gameplay Trailer At Summer Game Fest

The Callisto Protocol was featured during Summer Game Fest Live.

The recently unveiled The Callisto Protocol--which releases later this year--has been teased by Striking Distance Studios for quite some time, and it made an appearance at Summer Game Fest Live this year. We got an all-new look at the survival-horror game via a cinematic trailer and a gameplay trailer. The game is considered a spiritual successor to Dead Space.

The cinematic trailer showed off the game's Dead Space vibes and confirmed it will be a very spooky and gore-filled experience. The trailer ends with, well, something very horrifying that you have to see for yourself. Check out the trailer below. We'll add the gameplay video here when it's published.

The Callisto Protocol releases December 2 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC. As for the gameplay trailer, is shows off The Callisto Protocol's eerie vibes and some of its gameplay systems. It ends with one of the many horrific ways that the main character can die. Check it out below.

Though initially connected to the PlayerUnknown's Battleground universe, this canonical link was removed during development. There will, however, be some Easter eggs that eagle-eyed fans should spot.

Oh helllll yeaaaaaa!!!!

This is what I am talkin 'bout! Closest I can come to my desired FEAR remaster or 4, but I will take it. I know it looks closer to Deadspace, but shhhhhh I own it digitally and physically and have not even started it up yet...forgive me gamers for I have sinned...probably should wait for the remaster huh.

I hope the movement/action is not that sluggish/slow and I hope you get enough amo and bullets to tear some serious damage. For me there is nothing worst when a game is great all around less the controls or lack of ammo. At the very least give us easy/med...etc modes.

From the moment I saw the trailer I thought it was going to be something special and I thought to myself while these other devs chase their tails and act like they don't know what gamers want...these guys get it!!!

Sci-fi FPS horror is the best genre for me & I cannot get enough. Would love to see Blacksite Area 51 in this light.....uuuuuufffffffffff!

RE8 was the absolute mediocrity in a bottle. Pathetic gunplay with shitty weapons, zero enemy variety, non existent exploration, cheesy Call of Duty-like Chris parts, all levels but the castle were abysmal, zero good boss fights, etc, etc.

The one with questionable taste is you. Way too easily pleased and with no standards for what a proper RE game is supposed to be. What its supposed to be? RE2R. That was a proper RE game. Too bad it was way too short and outside of the police station, later levels weren't on par.

Callisto will be better than any RE ever made.

One of my most anticipated games coming out. This game is going to be good and damn scary. This game is the Dark Souls of Dead Space. It might not be an actual true spiritual successor as Dark Souls is to Demon Souls it has all the trappings of Dead Space.

Looks horrific, although they may have shown a bit too much here. Given away too much of the mystery, however, they are a new studio making waves, so making an impression matters.
