Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Patch Coming Soon, Contains Fighter Adjustments

A new patch is coming.

The next patch for Nintendo's mascot fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will arrive this week, the company has announced. The update brings the game to Version 3.1.0.

The full patch notes do not appear to be available at this stage, but Nintendo says players can expect things like unspecified "fighter adjustments." It's unknown what changes are coming but Nintendo did confirm that the update will make previous version replay data incompatible. Nintendo advises that players convert their replays to video by visiting the Vault and selecting Replays then Replay Date and the Convert to Video prior to updating.

Nintendo is really pathetic at not providing patch notes for their games.

@Thanatos2k: To be fair, Nintendo is notorious for releasing fully polished games, not usually needing patches, so they don't have much experience.

@Thanatos2k: That has been true in the past, but they do provide the patch notes for Smash now, just not in advance I think.

Also they're not always easy to find. For example, the page for Mario Tennis Aces patch notes is titled "How to Update Mario Tennis Aces", and you have to scroll down a bit for details. I guess that way it's always the same link, but still.

Actually I just found out that Smash Ultimate has a dedicated patch notes page just like Aces. I didn't even know that.

@Tiwill44: I'm actually impressed with the detail they have there, which is abnormal. Then you look at something like Mario Kart....

Their last major patch, version 1.6.0, laughably even tells you there's stuff they changed that they didn't list.

So it seems the notes are based on whether someone working on them cared enough to detail things.
